I do think Clary gets cut unless we have an injury. You save about $2M against the cap by cutting him. Royal is another one where we can save money via cutting him and he is looking for playing time on what is easily our deepest unit.

      :umno:

They want a vet starting next to Fluker, and Clary can also move back outside to RT in a pinch. He's taken all the 1st team reps at RG and they are trying to find their starting 5 sooner rather than later. I don't see them experimenting witth Fluker at RG this late for the same reason. Clary actually may be pretty good there if given the chance this year- which also happens to a contract year for him. I see ZERO chance he is cut in a salary cutting move.

Well I think he will have two vets starting next to him.

Oh, this isn't a contract year for Clary. He makes $5.7M this year and $6.2M if he sticks next year. Should he stick this season you better save the tape on him because he won't be playing for us next year.

Clary has to be a pretty solid guard to get 6.2 M next year.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

If he plays well at guard and realizes that is where his career lies, he might be willing to renegotiate the lat year of his contract, lower his base salary and take a bit more guaranted on a medium term contract. His future all hinges on his performance at guard this season.

I hope he does well at guard.

Agree with this. It's why I see him as getting more snaps than our brand X RBs.

Then I was misinformed. Can't trust those Patsy fans.

Why would he renegotiate if he plays well?

would you rather get cut due to your salary being out of wack for your position, or renegotiate, taking some of next years salary upfront and signing a multi-year deal at a salary that is in line with the position you will be playing?

He might think he'd get more as a RT after he's cut. Depends on the renegotiation.
