    @MikeGarafolo50m
    #Chargers S Derwin James will undergo surgery on his foot following evaluations of the stress fracture in his fifth metatarsal, sources say. He's expected to be sidelined around three months. The surgery will be performed by noted foot and ankle specialist Robert Anderson.

      Surgery will bring him back quicker than waiting for it to heal on its own.

        Don't let facts get in the way of a good story.

          Except this isn't "nonsense". It's good team camadrie and if anything helps them. Nonsense is going out to party every night instead preparing for a game.

            from a Chiefs fan:

            I remember looking into it when we signed Watkins.

            Evidently there's like a 2-year 'window' where you have to be worried about re-injury and if you make it out of that window, you're going to be fine.

            So the Chargers will be holding their breath every time this dude makes a hard cut for the next 24 months. This one's gonna linger a bit...

              All a matter of opinion. That '' good team camadrie '' hasn't won us anything yet.

              Will it this year? One can only hope as usual. But the way this offseason has started, makes me believe we will be traveling again if we make it to the playoffs.

                Yep. He needs to do what is best for him as I was saying yesterday.

                The upside for us fans is that we get to see him back earlier. The potential downside is that he may never be quite the same in terms of ability after surgery. Impossible to say though.

                  Unfortunate injury for our young star. He'll be back for the playoff run. Meanwhile next man up. DJ is one of a kind but we have some quality depth. The increased responsibility & snaps played - the experience should make them better.

                    Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

                      Never argued otherwise.

                      You can get turnovers that with or without the excessive celebration.

                        Given that this team has never won anything at all, we should probably not do anything period. Or maybe realize that there are good things that we can do and still come up short.

                          We disagree on what we necessarily define as '' good'' in this case. So there is that.

                          But you're welcome to go to that extreme.
