No one is asking the Chargers to mimic anyone. We're asking the Chargers to build their OL in a more responsible way. Build the OL with players that are well-rounded in pass protection and run-blocking. Typically, those kind of players will get drafted in earlier rounds. Be balanced on offense. Run or pass better on 1st down.

The Chargers as an organization need to ask themselves - do they want to win in 2020 or do they want a QB? Its that easy: Rivers with an upgraded OL and IDL/MLB - will be an improved team overa rookie QB - even if they still revamp the OL and IDL/MLB.

If Spanii want to win LA - its pretty easy call. I know you mention Tua - but winning will sell seats. The Cardinals picked Murray - they were 5-10-1. The Ravens had to go through Lamars rookie season. Either way, they need to upgrade the OL and IDL/MLB. Thats a given.

Reality is....at some point soon they need a QB. This year or next and both seasons they want to win but the inevitable needs to be addressed.

Keep Rivers, draft a QB we can win. Keep Rivers , draft a OT, we can win. We need OL anyways but lose out on a QB while picking top 6 and if we win, trading the farm for a QB in 2021 will be a much bigger price.

Pick your poison.

Either way the new QB sits under Rivers.....IF they retain him. Go with Tyrod, we won't win.
