The hubris of Telesco & Lynn: they would rather tempt fate than placate the Gods with the fat of a young heifer.

Yes, they are displeased - repent!

If Kendricks isn't going to cut it alone on the receiving end, trading for a rental, somebody like T.Eifert before might help, or V.Davis from WAS.
Both are on go-nowhere teams and will be UFAs. Offer a conditional late round pick.

But now we also need to account for Culkin.
EIFERT??? trade for the most injured player in the nfl the last 5 years? Ummmmm....not only NO...but F NO.

Eifert? He'll get hurt getting on the plane.

Davis is an OK option except:
        1). Doesn't know the offense
2). Is basically their starting TE because Jordan Reed is hurt as much as Eifert is.
3). He is one of the more popular guys in the locker room and among the fan base, so they would lose the team. They are perilously close to having a palace revolt and/or no one show up to their games as it is, this would probably be the tipping point.

I am fine with the idea, but the Redskins will never do it.

No need for Gates, we already have the next Dallas Clark on the team.
Tom Telesco’s Results in 9 years as Chargers GM:

          - 69-74 record
          - 0 division titles in 9 yrs as GM
          - Worst record among all active GMs with same tenure
          - 6th worst winning percentage among all active GMs overall
          - 2 playoff wins despite elite QB all 9 yrs
          - Team still has the same weaknesses (Oline and run defense) that it had when hired as GM in 2013
          - Consistently puts together horrible depth, expects starters to never miss games

He's only the most injured TE over the last 5 years because Jake Butt's only in his 3rd year.

But that's why I'd offer a conditional pick. If we ended up throwing away our 7th rounder on a rental, or a 6th if he actually plays, it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world. An 0-4 team might take it on a guy who won't be on the team next year. We pick up his salary, and they would have an extra 6th or 7th rounder next year for their rebuild. If the guy works out for us and walks at the end of the season, we might even get a pick back supplemental a year later.

I look at him as a Danario Alexander type. Yes, he's going to get hurt, but he could provide enough of a spark being our spare tire to get us to where we need to be.

A lot of people on this board seem to be counting on H.H coming back this year, but he may well be on his way to being Eifert 2.0.

WAS is 0-4 and playing NE this week; I think Jay Gruden is done. They might as well get what they can, while they can.

It will take Gates a few weeks to get ready to play. He is OLD, fellas. He cant just show up and run around. He also was never much of a blocker and is even less than that now. As much as we all love him, time to let it go. Sign some young pup who can block until Green and Henry can play. How bad is Green hurt anyway?

If the Falcons lose again, maybe we can pry loose Austin Hooper

Assuming they don't have plans to re-sign him next year, what would it take, a 4th rounder or more?
PIT gave up a 5th rounder for Vannett.
They're both 3rd rounders from 2016 who'll be UFA, and Hooper has put up way better offensive numbers.

Chargers promoted TE Stephen Anderson from the practice squad after placing Culkin on IR. They also signed TE Matt Sokol to the practice squad. Gates ain't coming, yet.

Anderson has some playing experience and is a pretty good receiving TE. Fast for a TE and quick off the line. He is not a terrific blocker, but he will try. Just move of a move/H back than an inline plower. Getting guys like him and Kendricks shows how hard this scouting staff and front office works.
