Yep...like all that launchwhiffing...going for the big hit instead of taking a better angle, slowing down at the end, squaring up vs. the ballcarrier, and either herding him to the sideline or to where there there's help...

This seems to indicate less than full understanding of NFL level physics. I know you like posting "launchwhiffy" to insult players, but I really don't think you understand modern tackling tactics nor the insane physics of the sport.

The "break down and tackle" concept sounds better than it applies.

"Slowing down" is generally not an option.

If we run for 2 yards per carry, we will lose. Closer to 5 yards per carry, we will win. That is the key at this point.

Funny joke, I know...but they do.

This is how NFLers tackle. It's not a Charger thing. These guys are too big and too fast, so "break down and tackle" is fading and taking angles at full speed is in. Better tackling usually coincides with better players.

Getting the players to stop "whiffing" or whatever you want to call it is coachable. Putting better talent on defense to improve things or changing the scheme up, that's another thing. The latter seems hopeless.

                    I'll take funny.

Agree. We need better players. How do we get 11 players equal to Bosa and Derwin on the defensive side, 5 HOF OL, the next Mahomes and LT?

We have certainly used a lot of high draft picks and veteran FA on the defensive side of the ball (Bosa, Tillery, Nwosu, Perryman, Mebane, Davis, White, James, Adderley) so if we still need better players we're really in trouble.

not really........ the difference is not the number but who we choose....... Bosa and James are all pros....... Tillery and Adderley have potential...... the rest are so-so.....tweener players.... not every down type players.....

We have drafted zero great OL......... and all off the flyers we took have failed..... our 2 best OL are vet FA's who are injured...... and one will likely retire.....

We have no WR's with speed..... and draftees zero off them this year....

knowing we had an often injured TE, we drafted none..... best offenses use the TE......

We have not drafted a big fast every down LBer since Seau.......

This team tends to keep old slow vets over younger, faster more athletic players........

Most great teams somehow find a way to acquire 5+ good to great DL/pass rushers..... Chargers seem to be happy just having one or 2.....

49ers had many needs over last several years, yet they drafted 3-4 first round DL's...... knowing that a great DL stops the run and kills QB's...... and that is how you build a team...
49ers also find ways to draft the right players for their dominating OL......

                        They have a great TE

They have a great group of RB's....

They have a good but not great QB....

the rest of their team is average.... but they are undefeated because the OL and DL dominate.....

49ers are built right..... Chargers are built wrong..... one of the prob less is that overall Rivers has been so great and quick at decision making he has always made the Chargers OL look way way better than not really is..... so management never thinks its important to fix the OL.....

Chargers could have traded for Tunsil, to solidify LT ...... but continued to just say our OL is great and we dont need help.....??????

We did not need Gordon..... we needed an OL...... we should have traded him for OL help......

We dont need Taylor..... we could have traded him for OL help..... PIT needs a QB.....so do many teams.....

I doubt Chargers will make any trades before the trading deadline...... unless its to dump someone......

Watch other teams tackle...... NE, PIT, SF, NO, TEN, BALT, SEA, ...... etc..

no one tackles as well as they did in 70's and 80's but most teams tackle way way better than Chargers.... who are among the worst 3-4 teams in NFL.....
