Found out some tough news the other day - my wife has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer. It was discovered when she had a routine MRI for a different issue and they noticed a couple of nodules on her thyroid. They did a biopsy on the nodules and they were both cancerous. The doctor who ordered the biopsy is recommending the thyroid be removed and has referred us to a surgeon who will be doing the surgery. We have the first meeting with him next week and I was wondering if there were any questions or things that you doctors think would be important to bring up. We have spent a lot of time researching it online and I have a fair understanding of it and if they caught it early enough, the prognosis is quite good.
A side rant - it really sucks to have my wife get a phone call on 4pm on a Friday afternoon with the results of the biopsy and to be told she has cancer and then not be able to talk to a doctor about it until the following Monday morning! As you can expect, it wasn't a great weekend. Anyway, a little mojo my wife's way would be appreciated!
