Look at the Titan game - if the OL gets push maybe there is a score and Gordon is not stopped - he was like 6 inches on the second down play or less from scoring.

super talented teams with good coaching dont have many close games..... unless its against another well coached talented team
average talented teams with great coaching find a way to squeak out those close games.....well coached teams dont turn ball over much, donator commit as many penalties or get caught as much.... and have better ST's......they do all the little things better....
Badly coached teams with good talent tend to play close but still find ways to lose..... especially different ways to lose every week..... remember even when Rivers had games with not turnovers, we still found other ways to lose..... I think Rivers has always made chargers look like we had more talent than we had..... LT and gates were special but most of the rest were average at best......
badly talented teams lose baldly most weeks...... basely talented but with great coaching, tend to play hard and win a few games when unexpected, through effort.....

I agree about coaching. Rivers has played for pretty average coaches. Kyle Shanahan has proven to be outstanding. Chargers picked McCoy when Arians wanted the job. Reid I think wanted San Diego as he has a home in the area but of course, the Spanii were too cheap.
Say what you want about Marty and Andy in the playoffs - but you have to get their and those two coaches got their team to the playoffs. Telesco is 2 for 7 with getting to the playoffs. thats 28.6%. That stinks.
