Thats why I like QJ - he has the physicality for the overall game when it gets physical, when it gets tight, etc.. But bro, if you watched clips of Zay out of their camp or the last PS game and just poo poo it as the normal quickness of a normal small WR, you are not paying attention. I have seen a bunch, I only posted a couple of the many I saw, and sorry to disagree but it literally JUMPS out of his tape.Originally posted by Velo View Post
A small WR like that can be quick-jammed off the line by a good NFL CB. I would assign ASJ to cover him, he has the skills and quickness. A properly executed quick jam can disrupt the timing of a route and throw off the entire play.
this dude is different in degree. degrees are what make the cooking cook. Now can he avoid or get off of press jams, can he avoid getting snapped in half by mean DBs who hate twitchy little WRs, can a twitch little slot DB cover him, ... etc etc ... all still not known.
And I still fall back on he can never be better than his QB - and I don't really think that much of him despite the popular expert narrative.Justin Herbert 2026 MVP Watch

Hmm, yet Flowers has 20 lbs on Davis.Originally posted by Velo View Post

And Davis isn't the route runner Flowers is.

It works for the teams....if you want a guy for a year which id bet our FO would stick with Ekeler,.... but wouldn't suffice either player.Originally posted by 21&500 View Post
Ha! That was my original proposition!
this GM gig ain't hard....
seriously though, the timing wouldn't be right, we just made things right by Ekeler and he's motivated and poised for a BIG year.
outside of Moore banging the table, I don't consider it.
If Indy isn't going to pay Taylor, they sure aren't going to pay Ekeler who is 3-4 years older.
Same with Taylor. But at least we tried to give Ekeler something extra. Indy told Taylor to take a hike.

Ekkie is forcing the issue...so we have to adapt, improvise and overcome...Spiller running strong, Kelley is solid, though not spectacular, and Dot has huge upside...IF we don't let him get poached...Originally posted by Caslon View Post
If it can be said that the Chargers have kinda sucked at the RB position the last few seasons, I bet ya all just can’t wait for the RB solution in 2024 without Ekeler.

Hearing Indy will ask a 1st for him.Originally posted by Bolt4Knob View Post
Chargers would probably need to add a draft pick and maybe pay part of Ekeler's salary since Ek is 6.25 + 1.75 in incentives
Isn't it ironic? The league don't want to pay RBs top dollar but want top compensation to trade them to you.

Great point! I think the Colts are just telling teams “we’re not moving him but we’re gonna let him find that out on his own”Originally posted by Boltjolt View Post

I think they realize that like Ekeler, nobody is going to overpay for him and he'll be back. On the off chance some team is desperate, they'll take a first round pick for him - I just don't see it happening, sans a major injury this week.Originally posted by jamrock View Post

It's called playing hardball...the Colt Brass is saying, "Hey Jonathan, all u had to do was shut yer mouth and play one more year, and u would be a FA...fine, u wanna be traded, this is what we want...oh, and by the way, u were drafted in round 2, and that $7.8 mil deal wasn't chopped liver...show us u can produce one more year and then we'll talk...but no, u wanna be traded...thanks a bunch"Originally posted by jamrock View Post

I hope Ekkie is back for a reasonable price, but I think the Spani don't take too kindly to disgruntled players...what's to stop Ekkie from complaining in a year or two that he didn't get enough ?Originally posted by richpjr View Post

Nobody's going to surrender a 1st round pick for him. They might get 2nd and maybe an additional lower round pick, but not a 1st.Originally posted by Boltjolt View Post
