He has been horrible for a couple decades ever since he had a little success early. Where the hell does Lance even go - Dak and Rush are wayyyyy better than he is and both know the offense. Grier looks better than him too. Makes zero sense - I think this year he is cheap because his bonus was already paid by SF, but next year he has $5M+ guaranteed? Not sure - but thats ridiculous no matter wha the math is.

Actually, Grier was drafted by Carolina in 2019 in the 3rd and spent 2 seasons with the Panthers before he was waived and Dallas claimed him in 2021.

He is familiar with Moore but the guy has played in 2 total games in his career (2 starts, 2 losses with Carolina 0 TDs/4 interceptions), is 28 and when Dak got hurt he never sniffed the field. Is everyone really sold on him as a massive upgrade over Stick?

I’d bet he is an upgrade over Duggan, especially in 2023 and I think its stupid to make long term developmental investments in QB3.

I just have watched TT for a decade, he doesn’t shake the roster the day before “real season” prep starts. He’d only sign to address an alarming gap and they don’t think QB3 is a gap. Whatever they think Duggan has learned about the Charger offense, I’m sure they are more comfortable there than in bringing in a new guy now. Maybe Grier’s past Moore time gives him a sliver of chance to snap that trend but I just doubt it.

Which is another problem. Teams out there are doing what it takes to improve their teams why we sit and are satisfied with guy like Stick.

I do think one thing is that they know these guys personally and that is a factor in deciding to make the change and just let em go and sure it may be tough to say Stick is a great guy but when an upgrade is out there, you got to do it. I dont know him so its easy to say dump him for a better backup right now when you can.

What do you have to show us that Stick is better? At least Grier has some regular season stats lol. Stick has shit stats in preseason against backups and he will be 28 on Sept 15.
