Kidding aside, Hortiz hasn’t been able to find cheap value players in FA on offense. Especially the O line. Not last year, and now he’s down to some really below average G choices right now. Im glad he didn’t resign Zion cause he’s no better but this isn’t a good way to go into the draft. Teams now know the chargers want a true #1 WR really, really bad and they need Guards bad too, no matter who they sign at this point cause none of the ones left are long term answers. Hortiz has telegraphed this thing to everyone.

My original prediction was forget Linderbaum because we could get 3 quality IOL for what he would cost.

Badass cost $10M…..$17M to go.

Last year was a lesson that you need depth as well as quality. Our depth was absolute garbage. Look at all the OL injuries across the league last year.

I don't recall anyone saying they wanted Hortiz to spend $27 million a year on Linderbaum. They were for Linderbaum becoming the highest-paid center in the NFL, but not by the margin in comparison to the second-highest--Creed Humprey at $18 million.

I figured he’d get 21 and I was Ok with that. But I now know better than ever hoping for any high tiered elite players coming to the chargers in FA, so I won’t be making that mistake ever again. Now if you’ll excuse me I have to go pretend in my fantasy world that the Cole Strange signing was a work of art by my GM….
