IMO, the Saints would be a vastly improved team with Derek Carr, in place of Jameis Winston and Andy Dalton.

And that's not to say that the Saints don't want to draft and develop a QB, too. Carr seems like a good 'bridge' guy, a QB who'd keep you competitive while you're developing your QotF.

I think Carr goes to Saints. Just don't see how they can fit him in their cap. But maybe they can save enough by cutting Winston and Kamara may be in some real trouble from his Feb 22 assault charges.

And if you bring in a mediocre qb who wins you a few extra games, you’re never bad enough to get an early draft pick and a shot at a franchise qb. Be good or be bad, don’t get stuck in the middle.

Be good and compete in the playoffs. Be bad and draft high and rebuild with premium talent. Be mediocre and do neither.

Those rumors about Vic Fangio (who I believe to be the best defensive coordinator in the NFL) taking a consulting role with the Eagles in the post-season....yeah, that never happened. Vic took the time off before getting started with the Dolphins post-Super Bowl.
