He is a lot like Phil.
    Almost. Every time.
    Same storyline.
    But, what if ?
    How banged up is Stafford,
    because at his best,
the arm talent is superior to Rivers.
We do not play modern football.

No running game at all during most of his tenure with the Lions. It’s been pretty bad for him unfortunately.

        It's a house of cards.

Time after time, year after year after year, Stafford and the Lions have put up L's.

As much as you have pointed this type of thing out with Philip Rivers,
and as much as you have saluted TB12,
can you not see how out to lunch this move is ?

Kroenke is clearly trippin' about Deano.

Meanwhile, Goff goes to a team with Decker, Ragnow, Swift, Hockenson
and a draft very deep and very top heavy at WR.
        Total opposite strategies lol.

Deshaun Watson said he wants to be traded. The Texans said hold on let’s talk about it and let us show you what we want to do.

Stafford said he wants out and the Lions said damn right let’s see who we can fleece.

Detroit probably never gave Stafford the running game or defense to really be successful. But yes, Stafford can make the throws - but will be interesting if he can win in Los Angeles. They talk about the Rams having the number 1 ranked defense - but thats 2020. That defense is going to get a makeover. Hard to see them being able to bring back Troy Hill, John Johnson III. So they might not have the number 1 defense next year - losing a lot of depth. OL might take a hit or two in free agency too.

I do wonder how Johnson would fit with Derwin James.. I know this - I think I would rather have him than Jenkins if James and Johnson can coexist back there

Firing Jack Easterby would end the Watson trade talks. So priceless is the answer.

                    Gonna say it.
Everybody wants to wipe DeShaun's ass for him.
                    Not me.
                    He has a valid case.
                    eg the trading of DHop.
                    Watson's a great leader.
But there is too much slathering going on here.
Look at how well prepared young QBs are these days.
                    Get one.
                    Enjoy the rookie contract.

                        Casual thoughts on Rams Trade...

                        1) Sure it's going to set them back in the future but not as bad as retaining Goff...

                        2) Sean McVay probably would have resigned if he had to work with Goff anymore until they could have removed him...

                        3) If the Rams get a solid five years out of Stafford this Trade is not that bad as it usually takes 2 seasons to train a QB.

                        4) Like others mentioned these draft picks are going to be in the low first round area if Stafford takes them deep in playoffs.

                        5) Look at what the Chargers have acquired with walk-on players (The rams could do the same too!). I think it's a win win for both teams as the Lions are in re-build mode for next two seasons anyway and Stafford would be wasted there.

                        6) Definite buyers remorse and all these QB failures with Wentz, Goff, and such are making others realize you can't give up the farm with insane guarantees. I call these Train wreck contracts...you better be dam sure your QB is the real deal like Rodgers and Brady before signing big deals...

Chiefs won the Superbowl with 10 Rookies....
