I’d wager he is their plan for 2021. Takers?

The prevailing narrative is that they fired Pederson to appease Wentz, along with hiring someone they thought could salvage Wentz' career in Philly, keep in mind they interviewed Josh McDaniels also.
then Wentz still turns around privately and asks for a trade.
I've been very critical of Wentz and this story only reinforces my belief that Wentz is a child trapped in a Wildling's body. Low football character
But yes, Philly is a mess just 3 years removed from a superbowl

Yep...it's a TEAM game...if Wentz were to be sent to the bench, don't sulk, don't whine, be a man and cheer on your replacement...play to the end of your contract and THEN sign with someone else, if there are any offers...nobody likes a whiner...

Hurts did do well in his limited time. But it seemed like teams figured him out after the second game. He also seems limited by his physical tangibles. Therefore, unless he manages to be like Brees in terms of cerebral capabilities and pocket movements, I don’t think he can ever be a quality starter.

We will see man. Figured him out? 4 games? lol His D giving up 7 in 2 of those. He kept them in those games. His bad game was against the Redskins who are monsters on D. Its not like he had that offense designed around him and was prepped as the starter from day one. Lets see what happens. I like his chances. They need OL and WR help. Badly.

Speaking of Brees. Very nice of him to do this even though if you’re retired, you shouldn’t be paid lol.

Doesn’t this still leave them like $70 over?

Yeah they’re still over by a lot. I think they’ll restructure the players they want to keep in order to spread the cap hits more, and then cut the rest that make too much. Maybe a few trades to other teams in order to salary dump.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reports the Eagles are expected to trade Carson Wentz in "the coming days."

Interest surrounding the 28-year-old has heated up over the past 48 hours, inevitably resulting in Wentz getting dealt as early as this week; it's now a matter of when and where, rather than if he's sent packing at all. Although GM Howie Roseman has been asking for a first-round pick in return, it appears a number of teams outside of suitors who have already been linked to offers (Bears, Colts) are getting in the mix, as well. Philadelphia will be taking on $33.8 million in dead cap, the largest in NFL history, by shedding Wentz but at least have Jalen Hurts to build around in the coming year. The former is notably due $25.4 million in 2021, and $24.7 million annually over the next four seasons.

The interest in Wentz is further indication that teams
are not as enamored with this QB draft class as previously thought.

Stand pat will be the draft strategy, over trading up.
