I like Ingram, but he was not really a great player. He had only two seasons with double-digit sacks, and they were just 10.5 sacks. When you compare him to Justin Houston, there is no comparison. Bosa already has as many sacks as Ingram (1.5 fewer) and Bosa is just getting started.

When you have a QB of Herbert's talent on a rookie contract, the best time to win is now. Cuz when he gets his 2nd contract, he may become the highest paid player in the league, and that will limit what the franchise can spend to maintain a good team around him.

I agree. That's what the FA OL spending was about. Not a typical offseason for us. We still have to develop young players now and in the future.

Somebody knows if Melvin did something else last year ?

Wasn't InvisiMel a key part of the Gus Bradley Picket Fence Defense? They could have shown THAT highlight...

My guess is the cap space thats available after the rookie pool is used up....is saved to cover our butts in the event we lose a guy in camp. I think Free Agents are holding off for that reason. Across the league teams lose big names in camp really pretty often.
Thanks Fleet - thats the guy - Highsmith

I agree about any potential FA until at least after some of the preseason games have been played. Staley needs time to coach his players and see what depth they have before signing anybody. Than around Labor Day, final cuts, the team can ascertain areas of need and free agents available.

Damn Rams lost Cam Akers for the season. Hurts the Stafford trade. The run game for the Rams is critical. Its all based off that play action and ability to run. Sell the fake. I actually liked Rams players in fantasy this season. I bet they roll the dice on Bell.

Are we signing Justin Houston? If not I would’ve liked Ingram on a 1 year cheap deal with low expectations
