The Browns terminated him. The Saints terminated him. The Titans didn't think he was good when Square visited them in 2019. All of these are good teams.

He contributed to 4 seasons of the Chargers being below average in his 7 seasons here. He's horrible.

That's like saying the restroom at your local park where the homeless hang out is less smelly than Uncle Billy Bob's outhouse on the back 40. They both stink...

            21) John Brown's release from the Raiders answers the question: What veteran free agent was paid the most guaranteed money this offseason without making the team?

Brown was paid $3.24 million guaranteed, but general manager Mike Mayock and coach Jon Gruden still chose to keep Zay Jones over him. Brown clearly didn't impress at camp, but I'm stunned considering the tape he put up in Buffalo last year.

Could it be the raiders made a boo-boo?

I think the Lions made the same boo-boo with cutting Breshad Perriman. $2M guaranteed.

Lions also cut their kickers. Both of them. All of them. So they presently have no kicker.

I think the Patriots did that last season for their initial 53. Place kickers don't need to memorize a playbook, and someone will be hot enough for the first game after tryouts.

We should have done that too. They both are undependable.

Josh Rosen-- waived by the 49ers-- was picked up by the Falcons, to be Matt Ryan's backup.

This is (at least) Rosen's fifth team and he's entering his fourth season.

I liked the Lions doing that. If you really don't have a strong kicker - see what the market shakes out

There are many kickers out there - probably not WORSE than who the Lions cut. Plus it might allow them to keep a player - let the waiver period go through and put somebody on IR eligible to return. Put the player on IR and sign a Kicker.

Its not like the Lions had Tucker or Butker on their roster.
