Staley’s commented that they believe in Viz in post game presser, to the effect ya can’t give up on a young kicker. I disagree. I hope its just coach-speak in that coaches will always say “he’s my guy” up to the very second he’s released.

The thing with Viz is he isn't have just 1 bad day. He has had 2 in the last 3 weeks.

If Viz can get over his inconsistency, and is solid down the stretch, fine.

Anyone want to take that bet?

The flip side is we gave up on Koo pretty early, and now he is among the top couple of kickers in the league.

We gave up on both Lambo and Koo. Sometimes you have to be patient unless the coaching staff feels differently.

I also don’t hold the KC game necessarily against him since the conditions were so bad.

Staley is right though. You can’t give up on young kickers too quickly especially one with a leg like his.

Packers Mason Crosby is very good.

He missed three in a row today,
            then hit the game winner.

Missing a PAT is one thing. But at that point in the game, in the final 5 minutes of back and forth, and you battled back to potentially tie? That is when you can not miss. that is Crunch time, when you earn your pay. Miss the first PAT of the game, but not one in that situation.

Its weird with kickers. Its all in the mind. Once that doubt creeps in there, how can a coach get it out? You need that hypnotist from The Natural or something.

I was watching Red Zone today before heading to the stadium and there were multiple missed extra points. I told my kid that’s the theme today. It was league wide. Something like 11 missed PATs today???

This plus Staley's post game presser comments...Viz is not going anywhere.

                  He's good enough.

Okay then, bring in a different kicking coach or temp consultant and try something new, because what they've been doing lately ain't working...his mechanics are way off...can't believe he's missing so badly...

These are no longer gimme points like in years past. It's starting to show why unless it's a chip-shot it might be better to go for 2 point conversion.

Part of it is the number of inconsistent kickers out there. There are a bunch, and while everyone wants a consistent guy, the supply is low and the demand is high.
