You are correct that Stafford is 32...for another 7 days. He turns 33 in a week.

So he has what 3-5 years left in today’s NFL. Rams think they have a SuperBowl roster.

Goff obviously wasn't the short term window QB for the Rams. Backup Wolford played as well as Goff did recently which shows how much Goff's game has dropped off. Stafford is a huge gamble that may pay off but only if the Rams maintain continuity with the rest of their players.

I disagree. I don't think they really had a chance with Goff. They'll be good the next two years at least so it's likely the two first round picks will be pretty late.

Basically they got out of the Goff contract, and got Stafford for two late first round picks. Put actual names to the picks and it looks a lot better. Maybe the 4th best pass rusher in a draft or the 5th WR off the board. Seems like a good deal to me.

They have a lot more holes than just QB. Their OL is a mess for example.

Then they would be morons. They've made the playoffs 3 of the last 4 seasons and seem set to make it for the next 2. Including a Superbowl appearance. He also how'd McVay when that was a real risk.

I'd be thrilled if our next 6 seasons look like that.

The point is to win. You don't need first round picks to do that. There are other ways. The Saints have been over the cap year after year and trade first round picks, too. They've been competitive for a decade.
