Unless they were going to suspend him significantly more than one year, I think this is a really good punishment. I would have like to have seen a bigger fine, but that's about it.

This really hurts the Browns who enabled this behavior. This season is basically a throw away for them and the contract tolls because the suspension was less than 12 games. That means they lose the cheap first year cap hit they had. And the contract doesn't just get pushed back a year so they don't just get an extra year of service on the back end.

I don't know if that is all accurate, but I agree with you that it should be handled that exact way. I also think the Texans should be punished in some way (although you could say they lost him for all last season due to this) because in some ways I am sure they enabled and even aided his behavior. But the NFL won't want their teams to look culpable.

He got off easy. I was hoping for a one year ban. It’s not like Cleveland is missing out on much though. He won four games his last season as a starter and didn’t do squat in the playoffs previous to that despite having Deandre Hopkins, Will Fuller, etc.

Yeah, that part is hard for me to accept. He really goes out of his way to not own the things he did. He says he is sorry for "triggering" others. Or for pain this causes to others. He has never said I am sorry for what I did to my 22 or 26 accusers. Some of that is lawyering. Some of it is I think he still doesn't think he did anything wrong.

Because Watson was never indicted he was never in jeopardy. Anything he says can and will be used against him in court. If I was his lawyer I would advise him to say as little as possible and never admot guilt.

Not saying he's not a PoS, but his public statments have to be guarded if he wants to avoid a trial.

RT #72? Try watching again. Top clip he reaches and pancakes #50. Bottom clip he blocks two guys on the run play, holds up the man over him until TE can stretch, then comes off and buries the LB in the hole.
