It was a great PR move with all of the Polynesians living out here. He'll draw fans and I bet he could easily lead the league in jersey sales by a backup QB.

Well we'll see. The favorable thing is they both played in Flores defense in NE but usually signing a bunch of high priced FAs isn't a good formula for success.
Van Noy did well in NE but thought he was meh prior to going there.

Not usually. But they had the cap space and many needs so are adding some of the best available. Maybe not getting super value but they are making an effort to compete this year after they dumped a few players last year. (Tunsil, Stills etc) They also have 3 1st rnd picks!

No shit...it's gotten to the point that just not signing Brady is all I care about....they can do what the fuck ever, as long as they don't sign that happy asshole...

I agree with that..... it would be great to nit sign brady and use our cap money to rebuild our OL via FA and/or trades...... so we can draft a QB and draft BPA's after thet...... and win in the long run for a long time..... not just for a year or 2......

Van Noy did well in NE but thought he was meh prior to going there.

Van Noy has 20 sacks in 6 seasons. If you take out his Det time, he has 18 sacks in the last 3 season (7, 4, and 7). He did have 42 hurries this year, but that is almost half his career total. It is not like he is a coverage LB, having only 2 int since going to NE, and 85% completion percent against him. $12.75 mill per season is kind of steep for a guy who doesn't make that many plays.

Lawson is getting $30 mill for 3 years ($10 mill per) for a 17 sacks over 4 years, with 7 of them this past season.

Flowers is only a slightly above average OG, and a very below average OT, and is getting $10 million per year for 3 years, with 2/3 of it guaranteed.

Jones is the only signing that makes sense. he is a top notch CB, despite the lack of int. He has been up and down because Dallas kept changing his position, but he played well this past season. At $17 mill per season, you just have to wonder if he will continue to play well now that he has a big contract.

It's easy to get all fired up about guys, but history tells us that these are all high risk signings that will probably backfire.

You think the Raiders will lack for fans here?
I sure don't. Not sure signing Mariota does anything for hype here.
But he will be a huge upgrade to their other 3 scrub backups
