I disagree. Suppose a team sees a player's performance as being a negative. Then, it is theoretically possible that that player may have been outplayed by a player not playing a single snap (a zero score versus a negative score on whatever scoring scale is being used). Granted, the team would have to have seen something from the player previously to make such a determination in most cases.

In Guy's case, he did play against Dallas. And that plus what the team knew about him before was enough to overcome what they saw from Alecxih.

I understand what your point is, but I am not about to second guess the Texans roster cuts to see if Nix or Powe did or did not play better than Mathews in the preseason. I have seen none of the Texans games except for highlights, so I do not have a basis to form an opinion.

However, I do have a basis to challenge statements made by some on this board about comments that I think they are reading too much into and their attempts to suggest "the real reasons" behind the Texans roster moves which are not supported by anything cited. SC comes the closest to supporting his point with preseason stats, but pardon me if I find preseason stats less than dispositive of the issues being raised.

Seriously, the texans kept nix therefore Mathews is worse is flawed logic.

Your assumption is that the texans never make a wrong personnel decision.

What I said was that because I have not seen the Texans preseason games, I am in no position to challenge their personnel moves. I never said that I thought the Texans were infallible when it comes to personnel moves.

Also, this is not about who judged a player better between the Texans and Telesco. After the draft, we never had a chance to get Nix. We only had a chance to get the player the Texans cut--Mathews.

If asked who I would rather have between Nix and Mathews, the answer is Nix every day of the week and twice on Sunday. But as to which player might contribute more this year, I think that's a coin flip.
