We are poor at developing top picks like Gordon and Williams first year.

one area we seem to do well in is walk on like Gates, eckler... maybe we they need to explore this method more.
I wonder if we do well with walk-ons, or do they simply beat out the flops on the roster either with youth / not yet disproved potential, or cheapness of contract?

Guys like Gates and M.Floyd were a long time ago, but even the year Tolbert walked-on, they blew a 3rd rounder (plus a fifth and future 2nd in trade) for J.Hester.

You must not be very old to make that statement.

        Micheal Turner , 5th round
        Sproles 4th round
        Desmond King 5th round
        Vincent Jackson 2nd round
Jamal Williams supplemental draft 2nd round

To name a few of the top of my head

Ouch...those stinking draft picks the Bolts foolishly tossed away just to move up and pick Hester, only an average running back--crazy...that deal still makes me do the old slow burn...

I was speaking of TT, our current GM. No doubt AJ and MARTY together had a great eye for talent.
