Not sure I really believe that, considering all of the money he's already missed out on. But if that is the case, he's even fucking dumber than I thought. Which he may be considering he signed with a team that already has a better RB on the roster, in Lindsay. Who is reportedly not happy with the signing and will have extra motivation to keep Melvin on the sidelines.

And I'm sure a few of our defenders are licking their chops at the prospect of lighting him up after the disruption he was last season.

I really, really find this hard to believe. For a guy desperate to get paid and feeling that RB are underpaid, settling for less to be spiteful makes zero sense. Of course, so did his holdout so perhaps there is some truth to it.
