No doubt. I never knew Oliver could catch the ball. And he's easily the better runner. For Stinky-Jon-Wizzleteats....

I was pleasantly surprised by his pick ups in the passing game. Took the right guy and held his ground. Rex Ryan throws some pretty diverse looks and the rookie more than passed.Originally posted by oneinchpunch View PostI was impressed by a lot of his plays. He has a great head fake. But he also picked up a huge block on the Green reception. I liked seeing that as it will earn him more playing time.

Accept Sproles wasn't really a between the tackles type runner. Oliver is good at hiding himself behind blockers up the middle and then breaking away. And he dosnt have Sproles burst. I compare him to Sproles due to his strength. I compare him to Rice because his between the tackles ability and his strength which makes it hard to bring him down. He rolls over guys. Powerful little runner. Good receiving back like Rice. If he can pick up blocks he has a bright future if he keeps this up.Originally posted by oneinchpunch View PostLT said he looks like Sproles
At any rate im excited of the possibilities. He was an absolute stud in college.

So was Oliver the difference, Steve, or did the O'line play better?
I figured all year Oliver was our best runner. How is he as a pass blocker?

That's not evaluating talent?Originally posted by oneinchpunch View PostThey aren't evaluating talent they are making comparisons to other players they played with
As for his blocking, it was evident on the tape available on him from college that he would hold his own.

I think both. On both his 50 yard run and his first score he got good blocks. That being said, his patience on his first td was REALLY impressive.Originally posted by thelightningwill View PostSo was Oliver the difference, Steve, or did the O'line play better?

As OIP noted, and I saw this on the GDT, the block on the Green non-TD was excellent. I don't think he's a liability there. I'm concerned primarily with another mistimed injury through playing time, but that's not predictable. Saying this, I still want RM back, but he doesn't need to rush back.
