How is Ronnie close to being bottom of the barrel ? Sure he isn't the 2008 Ronnie but he gets the job done & will provide leadership/Vet vibes for the RB squad. Oliver will benefit by working along side old man Ronnie, yeah Mathews has experience, But I don't see him as the type of player to kick knowledge and mentor Oliver
His positive locker room presence will bring even better Mojo.....I'm sure Rivers, Weddle & the rest of the squad is exited to have him back
It's kinda like when we had Takeo, Donald Butler learned a lot from that Huge neck beastLast edited by Sec-E4; 10-08-2014, 02:02 PM.

There are plenty of young RB with much better physical skills, but most of them are learning to play in the NFL, and don't know our offense. We aren't looking for players who MAY need to play in Dec., we are looking for guys who WILL play on Sunday. There is just no one else who would be ready in time. Shaun Braughn still needs a lot of practice reps to get up to speed, so it is not like we can take them and give them to someone else.

It's good that the Chargers didn't burn bridges with Ronnie Brown when they decided not to bring him back (or that Ronnie decided to leave). It also helps that he wouldn't be completely lost in a new playbook with the Donkeys.

I'm OK if they give Brown some carries to see if he has anything left. Nobody thought he had anything when he broke the big run vs Cinci. Let him show what he can do, and then let him do that.
Oliver showed he has the physical tools to be an NFL RB. Now he has to show he can be more then just a guy on a roster. That is the harder part. Most guys in NFL TC, IMHO, have the physical tools. It is the mental preparation, the abiity to take what you learned on tape, and apply it in games, and to learn the finer points quickly. If BO can do that, then he can be our new starter/primary runner. But we still need more help, since we have seen how qucikly guys can go down.

The sheer number of injuries seems rather mysterious, so perhaps Father Brown would be able to help.Adipose
