If you haven't seen any of it yet, sure. It's not 100% historically accurate, but it's not as bad as Sons of Liberty.
They do a good job of walking the line between drama and accuracy. Heroes and -OMG- villains you want to stab in the face.

That little boy - a.k.a. - throat slasher - from 'Dig' might come in handy. ha

        I'll check it out.

It's The Revolutionary War, but there's plenty of eebil to "dig", if you like.

Talking about history I just watched an episode of "Who do you think you are?" with the actor Bill Paxton. Very interesting episode. To me it was much better than the norm from that show.

            Here it is ...http://delishows.to/1445-who-do-you-...55-bill-paxton

I've seen a couple eps of that on Discovery Family. Not terrible. I'll have to keep my eyes open for the BP ep, thx.

There's a new show on Discovery Science called Impossible Engineering that I like a bit more than most. It mixes showing contemporary construction projects with historical flashbacks to when each engineering/building principle was discovered or first used. It reminds me a little bit of that great PBS show a while back called How We got to Now.

Anyhoo, so far the show has covered bridges, shipbuilding, and skyscrapers. Anyone interested can check it out on the Y-Tubes.

A few weeks ago on PBS I saw a documentary about the concentration/death camps in WW2 that I had never seen before called Memory of the Camps.

It originally aired on Frontline back in 1985, so, like the first run of Cosmos, I missed it due to being a teenager and all that. It was an approximation of material that had been made that was never put together back when it was recorded. I gotta say this was amazing. It boggles my mind how anyone can be a holocaust denier when this s**t not only actually happened, but we have these kinds of records. There are long periods of film where it is extremely hard to watch. Anyone with a strong stomach and an interest in WW2 history should check this out. Here's a link.

Oh, and anyone who is interested in the history of Organized Crime should check out Making of the Mob: New York on AMC June 15th. It's an eight-episode long mini-series docu-drama apparently that features original film footage, reenactments, and narration by Ray Liotta. Looks pretty kewl.

This is very interesting stuff. Probably not for everyone.

Independent Lens has some awesome eps. The one last season that blew me away was "Brakeless" about a Japanese train crash that killed over 100 people. I don't watch it every week, but I do look to see if there is anything interesting.

Anyone else watch Texas Rising last night on History?

I thought the first episode was pretty good and was surprised at some of the name actors and there roles.

I did. That guy who rose from the dead from the Alamo looked familiar, but I couldn't place him until I looked up the cast. I liked it, but I wonder if they are stretching the Emily West myth a bit far for dramatic effect.

I'm sure they are. From what I've read there isn't a whole lot known about her.
