They Lost and then played one game in the loser bracket and lost. The team from the losers bracket had lost their first game and then beat the team from the winner bracket twice in a row to win the tournament. The softball All star tournaments I been to have been the same way. I thinks that's lame, your reward for coming out of the winners bracket is that you can be the only team eliminated by a single loss?
The majority of big travel tournies have a one game championship. But they are pool play type tournies, teams are seeded then head to a single elim championship.

The real LLWS champ is the winner of the international v American game which is the ultimate goal. The bonus of the winners bracket is that you will have one less game and get to save an arm. The winner of the NE/CV game tomorrow goes straight to American championship and the loser must play Washington thus stretching their pitching (both teams)... CV/NE winner will be sitting pretty come American championship.

I think i have the bracket correct... I think 5 teams have been eliminated.

EDIT: Just looked at bracket, the winner of CV/NE game will play game 4 in American championship. The opponent will be on game 5.

Yet another crappy strike zone....they don't do anyone a favor by having such a HUGE zone.

This is actually how most of the softball tournaments were. A few random games determine your seeding for the single elimination round. This is a pretty fair way to do it. The actual district tournament were simply a double elimination format where coming out of the losers bracket will require you to beat the winners bracket team twice to advance. This is the most fair as there is a good chance that the winners bracket team has already beaten the losers bracket team.

This set up is lame. If Conneticut advances to the Championship game and beats California they will be Champions despite having the same number of losses and being 1-1 against California. It perfectly fair to make the world championship game a single game but this pool play should not eliminate what might be the best team because of 1 loss while every other team had to lose twice to be eliminated.

Game last night was epic. 9 innings, and Holman with the game-winning homer again!

I was wondering why my thread on the Chargers Forum wasn't getting traction, and here's this thread in the forum which has nothing to do with sports!

Preach, brother, preach. SZ in these games has been worse than the refs in the
                  SD v CHI game.

A large zone (as us baseball nerds know) only benifits poor pitching. Too many great arms in the LLWS to have a 8 yo type strike zone.

Have to let the home team bat to complete the inning.

Nick pitched a great game and helped himself. Too bad for the pitch count.
