I think Telesco will sign a veteran. Maybe its Malik Hooker. Maybe its Richard Sherman (I doubt it); Casey Haywrd, Nelson, Poole, Gareon Conley

I think we will address both today but if we don’t both positions have Vet FA sitting at home right now.

One thing I have in my head from a previous Staley interview is something like ....
- We want to dictate to a defense by personnel groupings, formation, and motion.
This, to me, is the reasoning behind round 3 as well as looking a year ahead.
Anyone else remember this?

Also said he wants to make defenses move horizontally to wear out big guys up front. Both day 3 picks are willing blockers for those type of plays.

Pass rusher
Running back - I do think this will be their 7th round and final pick

Palmer and McKitty weren't really on my radar. But both look like sneaky good picks.

In my mocks, I was targeting safeties and edge rushers in the 3rd round. Luckily, both positions are pretty deep. There are still a number of players I like.

I agree. I'm really happy with yesterday's draft haul. I think Palmer is going to be a breakout pick and the fans on this board who are criticizing the pick are going to eat some major crow. I think it was a coaching pick, Lombardi and Staley targeted two guys they wanted based on the Senior Bowl and Telesco made sure he got them, even if they appear to be be reaches. My bet is that they had intel that other teams were targeting Palmer and Kitty and that is why TT drafted them early.
