Day 3 2021 NFL Draft Thread

I agree. I'm really happy with yesterday's draft haul. I think Palmer is going to be a breakout pick and the fans on this board who are criticizing the pick are going to eat some major crow. I think it was a coaching pick, Lombardi and Staley targeted two guys they wanted based on the Senior Bowl and Telesco made sure he got them, even if they appear to be be reaches. My bet is that they had intel that other teams were targeting Palmer and Kitty and that is why TT drafted them early.

I agree. As other posters have pointed out, several WR's are FA's at season's end... and a couple WR's need to step up their game to stay on the roster. Palmer has the size of a typical Saints WR (Lombardi type) and runs nice routes. McKitty was under-used... and you can see that he has traits. Gotta have various targets for Justin Herbert. I think Staley has his eye on DB's that he likes... maybe a little later... that others won't see their value. The coaching staff, their likes/dislikes, are probably shaping this draft.

Big back for 10-12 carries a game. He can catch as well so not one dimensional.

Palmer and McKitty weren't really on my radar. But both look like sneaky good picks.

In my mocks, I was targeting safeties and edge rushers in the 3rd round. Luckily, both positions are pretty deep. There are still a number of players I like.

This is good to know as they have 5 picks and I hope all five are the positions above in some way shape or form as I think he reached in Round 3 but his track record in Round 3 sucks so whats new with Tommy Telesco., Rounds 1 and 2 were easy - Slater fell to him and he filled a need. Samuel also was a need.

I think Tommy overthought himself yesterday in Round 3. Too much potential - I think one of those two picks needed to be "lower ceiling, higher floor, less bust" potential.

I think he also had a lot of input from Staley and Lombardi on the third round picks.

I was on there yesterday. When the NFL fell behind, they pulled their tracker and stopped announcing picks for 15 minutes at a time. Then they would do 3 or 4 at once. No bueno.
