Burks hunts wild hogs with a knife for fun
translatable skill perhaps?
Whichever team signs Burks will most probably see this as an injury risk, and insist on a rider in his contract: "Mr. Burks will refrain from hunting wild hogs, or any other animal, with a knife. On the other hand, if he chooses to use a firearm, this is permissable."
Those wild hogs can be vicious. A guy I knew went hog hunting, shot a hog, and it charged him. He climbed up a skinny little tree, but the hog kept ramming the tree as my friend held on for dear life. Hog finally got tired and dropped dead.
It’s tough to find a quality DT after round 2, CBs are available later though.
I get your thought on the draft and getting the right DT... Probably have to go DT with either the 1st round pick or 2nd if not CB.... The pats got Barmore in the 2nd, we need someone like this.

I'm not sure any of this years DT lot are worthy of a mid first round grade.
And I'm not sure any of the top Edge rushers will be available either.
The Corners all seem to have issues as well.
As desperate as we are to improve the D, the best players available at 17 might be LB's( Dean or Lloyd) or OL.
Certainly the next few days will reshuffle the deck on how the prospects are ranked, and more importantly, where we spend our cash in FA( I'm hoping veteran back to pair with Ekeler, a CB1, 2 IDL's) will determine who we draft and when.
Should be an interesting few months.

I do not think your "wish list" is unrealistic at all. And I think it would do enough in free agency to allow greater flexibility in the draft. Last year, well, there just aren't franchise LTs in free agency so getting a LT was always going to be a "draft day" acquisition in all likelihood. But with the needs this year, and the free agent class (or even potential trade targets of over the cap teams) -- the Chargers could fill those four positions very easily with their cap space.
I was thinking it may be a good idea to draft a CB with the 2nd round pick. To this way of thinking 1st round RT 2nd round CB. I wonder what CB's will still be on the board when the Chargers pick in the 2nd round. 3 round I would go DT.
Then sign a FA RB & Rams DT. & Dallas cowboys TE.
If the GBN prospect listings roughly matches when players will be gone, 2nd round corners are all gone by #48 and you will be reaching for 3rd round guys.
Plus, Lucas/Walker will be available in the 3rd round....groovy!
TE's going through drills, after running the 40.
LOADS of guys look REALLY athletic and move REALLY smooth.
We should certainly be able to find a pass catching TE in the 4th or 5th that'll make contributions next year.
