Any more of those Diggs Bros out there we can draft?
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Dude will do nothing to stop the run at the next level. I used to like him but he’s dropped way down my list. He’s the Hamilcar Rasheed of 2022. And your R3-R5 list is trash.

In my opinion, 2021 was a deeper edge draft and it produced 8 immediate impact players (9 if you include Parsons, which I don’t):
      Ojulari
      Paye
      Philips
      Oweh
      Basham
      Ossai
      Tryon
      Rousseau

There’s no reason to believe 2022 is deeper. It might be slightly more top-heavy, but not deeper. Here’s my list that will make an immediate impact:
      Thibodeaux
      Hutchinson
      Karlaftis
      Jermaine Johnson II
      David Ojabo
      Arnold Ebiketie
      Zach Harrison (maybe)
      Kingsley Enagbare (maybe)

The rest are either JAGs or take they’ll 1+ years to develop.
This is a key point IMV.

The list of draftees that are gonna yield better results than going the Uchenna/Rumph II route is very short.

The correct question is, who will cause opponents to really think about not doubling Joey ?

You're right... it is a very short list. Off the list that Bolt Dude provided, Ojulari and Parsons are the only players that have more sacks than Fackrell/Uchenna.
Are we 100% sure that those on the "magic list" will all turn out to be Parsons (who was drafted as an ILB)...?
Are we 100% sure that round 3 is nothing but trash...? There are no Matt Judons or Maxx Crosbys...?
We're 4th best against the pass (yds/game). Staley ran the #1 defense last year with Justin Hollins (5th round) opposite Floyd.
There are many different ways to skin a cat. Keep an open mind.
Nutty may be looking at OT's in the 3rd... if you can believe that!!

Another thing that may have gone unnoticed...

With Justin Jones back in the rotation... and Tillery out... the DL got more pressure and stopped the run better.
If the IDL can stop the run, your EDGE rushers will benefit (both in the run game and the pass game).
With massive amounts of FA money this off-season, I'd buy 2 above average IDL players (preference Sebastian Joseph-Day and Austin Johnson) for relatively cheap. Fix that DL the same way we fixed the OL last off-season.

Having said that, I'm on-board with getting an EDGE player in the 2nd round. I think the BPA will be an EDGE rusher in the 2nd round anyways.

Of course the Turkey Leftover Mock/Roster Build I am finalizing is quite different. :coffee:

I like the thought patterns going on in here.
2 more games till the end of in-season Q3.
More prospect evaluations coming with a more detailed roster build.

I have been playing with mocks for a couple of weeks now. One thing I have seen is that Penning has been going late 1st along with the Ohio State kid Petit-Frere. Also, Jermaine Johnson is usually gone early second. Now I would love to find any of these 3 sitting there come draft day.

I was just reading up on comp picks for 2022. Any chance Tyrod gets 80% of the Texans snaps this year? The NFL says that would move us to a 5th rounder from the 6th.

I just answered my own question. Only about 3.5 games played this season so far. No chance..........

IMO, Penning or Petit-Frere in the late 1st round is a bit of a reach.
I could believe Jermaine Johnson going early 2nd... but I like Ebiketi just as much.

                        1st CB Roger McCreary
                        2nd EDGE Arnold Ebiketi
                        3rd RT Abraham Lucas

I'd be thrilled with that draft.

I agree. Ebiketie and Johnson seem like a wash. If the rumors about Ebiketie’s RAS and traits are correct, he might pull ahead of JJII at the combine.

I’m also curious as to whether or not Devin Lloyd can play edge in the NFL. That dude’s a monster.

                          Edit:

I’ll also add that operation code name ‘Edge Dog’ is not over. Staley’s not a nimrod. He sees what’s going on with Micah Parsons in Dallas. K-9. sees it too. And they’re both salivating.
