Brian Kelly headed to LSU. I'm so sorry, Tigers fans. I really am.

Ever wonder why Nakobe Dean looks like such a stud on that UGA squad? Could it be because he’s playing behind the most ferocious front four in college ball? Jordan Davis, Devonte Wyatt, Travon Walker, and Jalen Carter are all elite first round talents.

As good as Nakobe Dean seems, I guarantee K-9 would look better behind that DL, as would White. Let’s not triple down on what we already have, please. Want better tackling from the LBs? Control the damn gaps. It’s not rocket science.
Our quarterback is a golden god.

Reportedly the SC football alumni have a lot of clout in picking (or firing) the coach...they have some high standards, including:

1. Win a bowl game, preferably a major bowl game
2. Beat Notre Dame
3. Beat UCLA
4. Win 8+ games

Miss on any of those 4, they might give the coach a mulligan. Miss out on 2 of the above and you're on the chopping block. Miss out on 3 or 4 of the above, and you're gone.

You set the bar too low on 4. USC alumni expect to compete for national championships. That’s the caliber of that program historically

Dane Brugler, who I greatly respect, gave us Kaiir Elam in his latest mock. Can’t say I’m upset.
20. Los Angeles Chargers — Kaiir Elam, CB, Florida*

Even with positive play from rookie Asante Samuel Jr., the Chargers’ cornerback depth chart will need some work this offseason. Although you wish his tape showed more plays on the football, Elam has the intriguing traits that should land him in Round 1.
Other notes from Brugler’s mock:
*Hutchinson over Thibs for #1 pick
*Travon Walker #11
*Nakobe Dean #14
*David Ojabo #15
*Jordan Davis #17
*Trevor Penning #18
*Charles Cross #21
*Kenyon Green #22
*Camron Thomas #25
*Daniel Faalele #31
*Roger McCreary #32

Ojabo is a rocket. I look forward to his Senior Bowl and combine.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

Ojabo’s a junior…so no Senior bowl.
Hutchinson oughta be there.

I didn't feel a need to point him out as the exception.

Aside from Carroll, the list is of a Wtf are you thinking variety? Ted Tolner, Larry Smith: who famously said that you can't win at USC - and then was replace by Carroll, Clyde Helton, the guy with the drinking problem, a green Lane Kippen,....

I am also looking forward to the Eric Galko infused East-West Shrine Bowl.

I salivate over Dean for a lot of reasons, him being available in the early 20's is one of them. Jordan Davis will be gone and 20's is too high for Wyatt. I followed up my Dean pick with Jermaine Johnson in round 2. Me likey........
