The teams swap first-round picks with the Lions getting a third-rounder and the Chargers adding a fifth and a sixth. Austin Ekeler is mad, wants a new contract and asked to be traded. The Chargers answer his requests by selecting the most talented RB since Saquon Barkley.
Don't want to give up a 3rd rounder, BUT...if the Bolts have reliable intel that someone between #19-#20 is picking Bijan, I might do that deal...

Where o where do you guys get your thinking. I would purposely play him to get exposure. Could have used a very good backup last year. This organization has been absolutely spoiled in QB injury area.

I've seen that a couple of places, but there is a lot of conjecture that it can't be accurate, given his reasonably fast (not burning fast, but fast enough) 40 time (4.48, I believe). You don't run a 4.48 if you have a slow 10 split.

I was on JSN early as a good possible choice for the Chargers, to eventually take over for Keenan Allen, when there was speculation that Allen might not be back after this coming season. But then the Chargers reworked Allen's contract, and it doesn't look like Allen will be let go for several more seasons. I still think JSN is the most-NFL ready wide receiver in the draft, who deserves to be the first wide receiver taken, and could be a slightly faster Keenan Allen as a slot receiver. I don't think he will be there at pick 21, and since we are tied to Keenan for several more years (cap hit from cutting him would be prohibitive), I don't see us picking him even if he were there. If we had the need, though, I would want us to take him.

The team I hope doesn't draft him is Kansas City. Think of that Chiefs offense with a Keenan Allen-type security blanket-- not fair to the rest of the league.

I cant imagine this kids YAC after 107 catches? I know that wont happen again for a RB on this team...that was related a lot to not having our WRs...but Gibbs is so much more gifted in the open field than Austin. The speed and tweaky twirks between the 2 is night and day. I also think Spiller compliments him nicely. You will get over 4 yards a carry year in and year out.

                  I love this guy.

I’m a no on that. There is a solid choice to be had at 21 and in the 3rd. Fifths and sixths are lottery picks, many, many more losers than winners.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

It could be leverage vs Ekeler.
We do know you are jumping up and down on the draft table for a super RB named Bijan.
I would trade up for him.
Late rounds can address depth at the loaded DB, TE, WR positions.
On the other hand TT did say @ #21 does not necessarily have to be a starter, especially since this draft is not top heavy.

I’ll take it. Fifth & Sixth is worth more in TT’s hands than a 3rd straight up, never mind getting Bijan. I’m tingling … its like Christmas in July!
