If we stay at 5, I'll just trust the process. Any of Odunze, MHJ or Bowers would be fine. Nabers strikes me as one of those guys who is fine, until he's not. Not a diva, but don't dig his vibe. No on Alt. If the Chargers need a RT, then draft a RT. Maybe Hortiz pulls a rabbit out of his hat and goes Defense. Again have to trust the process.

The roster needs upgrades across the board. Love the FAs so far. Even like the Allen move, would not lose a minute of sleep if Bosa left. My wishful thinking, is trade down. Thinking our First 4 pics need to be day one starters.

I am higher on Deane Leonard than others.
While there are CB's that fit the @23 slot well... I really would prefer Mike Sainristil with the #69 pick.
Understands the coverage schemes already. He would be a nice addition to ASJ and Kristian Fulton.

I'm not high on Ja'Sir and Deane. Nice depth... but not sold on them as starters.

My plan (I know you have your doubts):

#23 LB Edgerrin Cooper (Colson later if you prefer a known Minter fit)
#37 DT Ruke Orhorhoro (Kris Jenkins if you prefer a known Minter fit)
#69 CB Mike Sainristil (a known Minter fit)

There are so many possible permutations of LB, DT, CB with the #23, #37, #69 picks... I am fine with whatever the braintrust comes up with.
      I also like WR's, RB's, and TE's with the #105, #110, #140 picks. Again many permutations there.

wu is off in different directions in all three spots.
I guess you could say you are batting 1.000 .
Maybe we do play modern football.

Here's the problem with your plan Boltnut:

First of all, we do not know if RT is Harbaugh/Hortiz's top target.
Why not just draft Cooper Beebe at the top of the 2nd if you want to play caveman football?

Second, and most importantly, good points have been made suggesting that the Cardinals/Vikings trade is already a done deal .... or the Vikings wouldn't have gone ahead with dumping Cousins and moving up.

Do that deal with the Chargers?

Giants might pull the Vikings pants all the way down for the rest of the league to see by offering the Cardinals something they like.

Then, move up to get Harrison Jr?
They could put him next to Addison and Jefferson. What a receiving corp for Darnold!!!

Cardinals want a great receiver desperately?: have Jefferson thrown into the trade.
Minnesota has seen enough of what the future will bring with great receivers and a tier 3 level QB.
Jefferson is about to be very expensive.
Nobody knows who is Harbaugh/Hortiz's top target. We only know they want to run the ball and protect the QB.

There are better points that have been made for a Chargers/Vikings trade is already a done deal.

Giants have considerably less to offer the Cardinals than the Vikings.

Why trade for a lesser WR in Jefferson... especially with the expensive extension due soon...?
Get the "generational" MHJ on a 5-year inexpensive pick right now.

BFTB says Hortiz is prolly a straight shooter on visits.
There is the factor of "local visits are free."

Jeremy Fowler says we want speed.

Dane Brugler says Brian Thomas Jr (4.33 in Indy/ elite "Flying 20 yd") is a willing blocker...@ #23 ?

BTJ has a very similar profile to MVS and is no diva.

Saying in Ann Arbor: no block-no rock. ie WRs must contribute fully in the team concept on offense.
Maybe we do play modern football.

May I offer a Permutation Pleaser (based on your assorted prior comments)...?

#23 Cooper Dejean. He fits your safety/slot wants/needs.
#37 Junior Colson. Knows the hightened Minter defensive needs.
#69 McKinley Jackson. Fits your Justin Madubuike mold. Eye know Joe Hortiz saw the value as well.

Aaron Casey-LB Rd 7. Special teamer and backup ILB.
20 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, 3 FF and 3PD. Of his 109 tackles. 78 solo. Blocking and Tackling is what this team will do well. He fits that old school philosophy.
Who has it better than us?

Unfortunately he does not also play RB like Sione Vaki.

That's alright... I hear Brock Bowers has RB covered!
