Mock of the day. We now pick @17.
I traded down twice, got 4 picks in the first two rounds and 5 in the top 100. And nabbed the best C in the draft.
IMG_0125.jpgNow, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
Let’s win one for Mack.

What do you guys think about J. C. Latham?
If I were a bit concerned, we didn't have great luck with our last Alabama T/G ahem....
That being said, he's pretty good at pushing people around. Looks kind of slow for screens, and pulling though. Sometimes when he's pass blocking, it looks like it's just too easy for him.Last edited by madcaplaughs; 11-09-2023, 03:29 PM.

I think each and every year people tend to get drawn to a certain team to watch and personally FSU and their trio of Trey Benson, Keon Coleman and Johhny Wilson is ones that has pique my interest most. This is not a reflection on Ekeler's ability because he is a very good runner; for myself, I would love to see Trey Benson in a Chargers uniform next year.
Firstly, his forced missed tackle rating and yac is absolutely top notch to a point where it is almost an oddity. The FSU oline imo blocks much better on boundaery side than the field side; which menas the side that is between the sideline and the hash mark. Probably due to the nature that the linemen dont have to travel far to hold up their assignments. Even with less space on the boundary side in college, when Trey Benson gets that open lane, he is proven to be a problem for defense. players like him is why defense can't have nice things because every time he sees a tackle he is going to break it. He is a big body 6'2" 220+ guy that runs with a vintage style. Rigid through contact with strong legs and low center of gravity to stay balance. He was a former ducks and last year was his first with the noles and he was productive since the moment he arrived. His change of pace, and transition of his stride, in terms of speed and intervals is what sets him apart from the pack imo given his built. His biggest improvement thus far this year imo perhaps is his improvement in top end stride, which is much noticeable during his break aways. The 2022 Trey Benson, I would liken to a strong 4 gear thransmission old school muscle car, 2023 he is much more like a modern muscle car that can stretch to that 5th gear, this year he topped out at 22mph. Did I mention guy is doing that at 6'2 and a 220lbs+ mucular block of aggression.
Funfact: One of my buddy swears the college field is bigger and he is not half wrong. In college, the hash mark is 60ft to the nearest sideline and that makes the hash marks about 40ft apart vs in NFL, the hash mark is about 70.9ft from the sideline and the hash marks about 18 1/2ft part. The function of the hash mark is for when the ball is out of bound, the ball will be placed at the nearest hash mark. In that token, more often than not in college, the offense will have a wider "field" side than NFL and shorter "boundary" side. So in a way, being open and spacing can affect a certain type pf players (Yes, i am looking at you Quentin Johnston) more and some you get to see how they can show they can work with a lanes in tight spaces.
I don't want to start ranting about him too much but he would be a friend to our time of possession. Very much looking forward to their game against the hurricane this week.
For Keon Coleman and Johnny Wilson, other than injury concerns, they are just out of the world in measurements and with the game tape to back it. And that goes for the WRs in this coming year of draft class. If I have to guess, this coming class of WRs will be one of the best if not De best in recent history (including Jefferson's year, AJ brown, DK year). I really don't remember the last time this many 6' and above WR with the ball skills and footwork enter the draft all at once. This class just moves so differently, like the new age that the older guys in the lockerroom is fear of has arrived. I would bet when it comes time even the likes of Steve Smith Sr. would have a hard time picking the second behind Marvin Harrison Jr. the star of last years Ohio St. pro day. Some likes the route running from Nabers, some might like the size, speed and balls skills combo of Coleman and Odunez. Some might like Johnny Wilson, big body and the hubris to match and a strong bully ball candidate. Not to mention Worthy, Egbuka and.... geez.Last edited by C'monchargers; 11-10-2023, 05:05 PM.
