gates was a udfa, how many tightends were ranked ahead of him in the draft? its impossible to know if any of the tightends will be just as if not more impactful than bowers

When talking about Bowers you cant just classify him as a tyical TE, he is a weapon....slot receiver, H back, TE, chain mover , YAC producer, BALLER..

Gates didn't play football in college so he wasn't ranked.

i like bowers, its just real ballsy to say that no other tightend will be as good as him, when we have a history of the top player in the draft not being as good as later roung picks. do i think bowers will be good, yeah of course, but i wouldnt hedge against other tightends, itd be very easy for a tightend like holker or sanders to put up big numbers their rookie year in the right system

Sanders has some talent but not the production or the intangibles. Bowers is a physical baller like Kittle, who blocks. You want culture change, he is a Harbaugh guy through and through. That is a big reason why I want him.

like i said i like bowers, and would love him on the team, but i wouldnt be surprised if some of the other tightends end up in the right scenario and produce. look at laporta for the lions, he wasnt the number 1 te in the draft, and dude has balled all year.

Man, I struggle with RBs north of 6 feet tall...always like my RBs lower to the ground...the taller guys dont tend to stick...but last years exception to my own rule was Roschon Johnson...and he has looked good in his limited touches this last season.

In this draft class, Im really starting to warm to Braelon Allen. Have been showing favor to Estime, but this guy is a flat out truck...

Would you pick Alt...or trade back to the teens and pick up Fuaga, plus a second rounder that nails down your starting RB? We have a LT...Fuaga is a savage on the right side, go watch his tape. He is perfect for us...second only to my sig mock, I love this kid, and this plan....trading back to get him, and adding possibly TWO day 2 picks? Smart for remaking a roster with cap issues.

There are other TEs I like , I just think Bowers is going to be a playmaker and immediate starter.

Also like Sanders, Stover, Sinnott, I think Barner is more a blocking TE but he is kinda raw too. Haven't seen any Holker tape yet.
We don't have a TE on the roster that's starting worthy so Bowers i think steps right in. Just don't see us resigning Everett.

Yes I see your point, but with all due respect, Kincaid, the first TE taken, is not Bowers. This guy is the only guy ever to win the Mackey award twice

If Harbaugh and the boys are set on a lineman I like the trade down scenario also. We have a stud LT, we dont need to pay a RT top 5 money and yes get another pick.

I like the idea also of the 245 lb Allen.

That has nothing to do with the 2024 draft and the fact that a generational stud playmaker is going to go in the first 10-12 picks. There are no TEs remotely close to Bowers available in later rounds. In trrms of the most talented overall players in this draft, Bowers is in every top 5, sometimes top 3.

There are times you have to look outside positional value charts when it comes to special players. If Bowers is as good as advertised in the NFL he makes more impact over the years than ANY CB, just like Kelce has.

Did 1st round picksJammer or Merriman have better careers and impact than Antonio Gates? That would be a no, its Gates who will be wearing a yellow jacket in Canton. Jammer was a CB taken at 5. Solid payer, not great. Did he ever even make a Pro Bowl?

I dont think drafting Bowers is the only way to get a Pro Bowl TE. I just think Bowers is a great weapon for Hebert and brings more YAC and versatility than most TES, and also helps run game and protecting Herbert with willing and good blocking. Our TEs don't block worth a damn

And most of all I think Bowers would be a blast to watch for the next 10 years. This is entertainment after all, and our plodding offense was boring as shit last year.

Pitts isnt as complete a TE as Bowers and he has also been misused by an idiot named Arthur Smith who also didnt know how to use Bijan.

That doesn't automatically make UDFA's worthy of a draft spot or mean they are "hidden gems"... Guys like Ekeler and Gates are very few and far between. Gates and Bowers shouldn't even be compared IMHO.
