I will be surprised if the Chargers don't take him.
What if Nabers, Odunze or Harrison was the Bolts' pick? That selection would ALSO be an 'A' grade, A+, if it's MHJ.
I'm saying, it would be okay to pass on Bowers for the next Jerry Rice or Randy Moss, wouldn't it?!?
IMO, the Bolts would have a great shot at a top wideout even after trading down to #9, so I don't want to want so madly in love with one particular player at #5 that I don't consider what I might get from a trade down of a few spots, plus the extra draft capital.
So if it's Bowers? Hell, yeah!
But there are a lot of other scenarios I could see myself being geeked about, too.

This off season has been just as we all wanted. No OC yet but we all wanted JH, Minter, Hortiz, Ben Herbert and......for me its Bowers.
If we dont get Bowers that would be my only disapointment to all this. He is in reach where i didnt think he ever would be when this season started and my first mock had TE Ja'Tavion Sanders in it in round 2.
Then Staley shit the bed....a second time and we went on that big losing streak and here we are.1. Mason Taylor TE LSU

um, not everyone wanted Hortiz.... some here wanted/preferred Ian,
personal suspicion is that Hortiz is a Harbaugh selection, and am a little wary of giving Jim total control, as don't think it's ideal not to have @least a little sand for the oyster.
also a bit skeptical in that Joe has only worked in one spot, and not sure that Ian Cunningham isn't the better decision maker outta the two.... ??
personally I liked that Cunningham has worked in a coupla few different environments, and under a coupla few very talented leaders.... think he woulda been the better bridge between Harbaugh and young John, as he is younger and as mentioned before, has some homie to him, as well as having been an Olineman.
that said, have little doubt that Joe 'n Jim will deliver the ever ephemeral SB within the five years that Jim is under contract, however not sure that the overweighting of Harbaugh's choice of Hortiz isn't gonna do him in in the long run, as can see the Chargers conceeding him his way, even when they might feel strongly otherwise, albeit not sure they are then so inclined to renew his contract given that he might repeat his ways of weighing in over the wishes of his personnel support team ??
not overly worried, just going on record as being an Ian supporter, and was never overly excited 'bout Joe, and.... all is well.ED Matayo Uiagalelei, DT Dontay Corleone, OC Iapani Laloulu, CB Domani Jackson, OG Earnest Greene III, WR J Michael Sturdivant, LB Eric Gentry

Trading down a few spots-- picking up some draft capital in the process-- and *still* getting Larry Fitz... ERRRRR!... Rome Odunze?
How does that sound bad to anybody?!? There are four guys I'd be geeked about getting with the pick at #5-- MHJ, Nabers, Odunze and Bowers There are three more that would IMO be worthy of targeting after trading down a few spots, if one of the others doesn't slip down: Dallas Turner, Terrian Arnold, and Joe Alt.
There are multiple ways that this could work out well for the Chargers.

and don't think anyone here has to much worry 'bout drafting a wideout @5, as for one.... it would be very/way too Matt Millenesque.
there is also the matter of missing out on Kincaid last go 'round, and having a ready salve in Bowers, that makes up for that, and in droves according to most peoples here.
and personally don't advocate trading down and hoping to still land Brock.... if you know he's your guy, don't get fancy/cute.... just make the guy a Charger and get on w/things.ED Matayo Uiagalelei, DT Dontay Corleone, OC Iapani Laloulu, CB Domani Jackson, OG Earnest Greene III, WR J Michael Sturdivant, LB Eric Gentry
