Saints have garbage draft capital. 2nd rounder from Denver but their next pick is the 5th round
So for the Saints to move up to 5 - would cost a future 1st and 2nd plus their current 2nd - at minimum
I think the Vikings and Falcons make the most sense
If I trade down to the Vikes @#11, I want their 2nd and 4th rounder at a minimum...(they have no 3rd)...if they sweeten the pot with next year's 3rd rounder, it's a deal...Now, regarding the Saints, they do have a 2nd rounder, so if I do trade down to their #14, I'll want: Their 1st, 2nd, 5th AND next year's 2nd rounder...THAT might work...
Look at the post elsewhere showing him practice. He looks great.
That's in shorts. QJ's biggest problems are breaking press coverage and his hands. You won't see any improvement
there in shorts. We'll have to wait until the season starts. He has the athletic ability and talent for sure. He's got to
translate that on the football field on game day.
I agree with the above and I'd rather take a 4th this year than a 3rd next based on our needs. The only way I'd think of staying at 5 is if we somehow work out a trade for bosa or mack to net us a 2nd or 3rd. I don't see that happening though since everyone knows we are going to have to make cuts to deal with the cap. We got super lucky with the extra growth in the cap this year but, assuming MW is cut to get us compliant, we still need to trade/cut one of the other big 3 and restructure the last two.
You know the only reason why RT’s don’t play LT? Because there’s someone better already playing LT.
plus and someone correct me if I’m wrong…. I have read some pundits saying Alt is currently a better run blocker than pass blocker. And if he panned out, no reason he could not be paid Lane Johnson money even if Slater becomes the highest paid LT.
That said, give me Alt, Fuaga, Bowers, or Udenze between picks 9-11.

New Orleans: next years 1st and not their second as with future picks - -there is the chance it could be the end of the round. So would need next years 1st to make a deal
Minnesota: 2nd and 4th this year plus maybe a pick like a 3rd or 4h
This is a top 5 pick probably for QB -- the price is going up

The problem I have with the Falcons is they don't have a 2nd round pick. If we are trading back I want a 2nd rnd pick this year. If we don't get a 2nd rnd pick in a trade back then I doubt we will be able to get 2 2nd round picks this year.
Time to put my money where my mouth is: Hampton will be better than Jeanty!
I don't have an issue with Alt as a player and think he will make a great LT OT. The issue I have is you're using a 1st rnd pick on a LOT and are going to move him to ROT. That makes no sense. 1) You're already taking the gamble that he is going to make the transition to the pros, but 2) Know you are going to take a gamble that he can the transition from LOT to ROT. IMHO, it's not worth the risk vs reward to use that high of pick. Later rounds, yes.
If you need a ROT then draft a ROT that has played that position for 4 years.

I just don't see Brock as the next Winslow or Gates. MH2 and Nabers look like 1.5 players like Joey Bosa when he first came out. You need two defenders to shut them down and sometimes that doesn't even work. They're that good!
Or Nabers could be the next USC Mike Williams, David Terrell, Charles Rogers, Justin Blackmon, Cory Davis or Kevin White.
Yes hard to imagine, but it was for those guys as well.
Many fans and others seem to prefer having a great WR over a great TE..... I can understand this from a big play point of view and from FF view......
There are some great WR's in this draft with alot of depth and maybe the best WR prospect in history ....
There is a TE prospect who many are calling the best TE prospect in history.....
If Chargers extend KA, we will have 3 very good to great receivers on roster.....
Chargers currently hacve zero great TE's on roster.....
Lets think about difference between great WR's and great TE's:
Great WR's are usually faster but smaller....
Great WR's can be covered and taken away by a great CB....
Great WR's require more time to get open forcing QB to hold ball longer....
Great WR's are usually more explosive...and scare defenses.....
Great TE's are bigger and break more tackles
GreatTE's are better blockers
GreatTE's add toughness to your offense.....and wear out defenses...
GreatTE's are better targets in red zone....
GreatTE's gert open quicker and are a QB's best friend by being an easy outlet when under pressure...
Great TE's help both the passing game and running game....
Great TE's like Bowers is too big for DB's to cover him and far too fast for a LBer to cover him........he is also faster than many DB's...... making him a matchup nightmare.....
Great TE's cost less for salary cap over their career compared to WR's......MORE BANG FOR THE BUCK!
Look at the NE dynasty and the KC dynasty?: Both franchises have won multiple SB's with great QB's, and great TE's, but average WR's at best.....
Chargers best offenses had Winslow or Gates........
Best 4 teams in NFL last year all had elite TE's ......
The best defenses in NFL this season, SF and BALT could shut down WR's but could not shut down Kelsey........ so they LOST.....to chiefs.....
