    Scouting Report: Summary

"Ricky Pearsall presents as a versatile WR with a keen ability to patrol the middle of the field, despite some limitations in his deep speed. His prowess in making contested catches and executing intricate routes compensates for his lack of elite breakaway speed. Pearsall's value lies in his playmaking through savvy route running.

In the draft, Pearsall projects as a solid Day 2 or Day 3 pick. His ceiling might not be sky-high due to a lack of explosiveness, but his knack for spectacular catches and adaptability - including special teams - make him a valuable asset. His fit seems optimal as a slot receiver in an 11-personnel setup, where his route-running acumen can be fully leveraged.

The key for Pearsall at the next level is to bolster his play against press coverage and enhance his physicality. His route-running is top-notch, but his ability to handle contact at the line and mid-route needs refinement. With improvements in these areas, Pearsall could evolve into a consistent and crafty receiver, capable of making an impact in the NFL in a complementary role."

No thanks at 37, I have Pearsall about 20 in my WR rankings

Great route runner and has looked good at senior bowl and combine but personally I am really ready for something differernt than possession receivers who lack explosiveness, especially with all the WRS in this stacked draft for the position.. We still have Palmer in the same mold. For once just give Herbert an explosive weapon.

I’ve been banging the table for them to call a drag route for him ala TWill. I think they did a couple but he ended getting hammered by LBs.

Another one I will throw at you is Malik Washington WR, Virginia. He would be really good in this offense.

            this.

McConkey would be my alternate to Pearsall, I want a WR that gets open in 2-3 quick steps, even if a DB can run with him (which will be hard), is already too late.

Pearsall is good though, not a bad pick I doubt the staff is blabbing to a reporter who they will target. Liars Month.

Matt Money Smith actually said that!!
He said that’s NOT QJ game as a speed, perimeter, sideline, jump ball guy. He’s a quick over the middle, post, space after catch, break tackles guy and the idiot regime misused him.

That’s why they like Odunze. He’s so fluid in and out of routes can make perimeter, sideline catches all day, and has really good instincts finding dead space and getting behind defenses.

The combination of Andy Reid, Mahommes, and Kelce is a force to be dealt with.
It would be very difficult to replicate. Each is unique... and very different than what we have at those positions.
Herbert is not MaHommes. Harbaugh is not Reid. Why would we assume that trying to replicate Kelce would be the only way...?

Find a unique way to beat that Reid/MaHommes/Kelce combination. That's all.
Take a look at the coaching staff and management... and move forward. Draft guys that fit your systems. That's all.

IMO, you attack MaHommes with pressure... especially up the middle. Minter likes to do that... check.
Play solid defense and limit the Chiefs offense. Both Ravens and 49ers did that.
Be balanced and able to run the ball... hopefully you control possession in the last minutes... with MaHommes and Kelce watching.

This isn't rocket science... and this is how the Chiefs have been beaten before. Create turnovers. Be balanced. Control the L.O.S. and win the game. If the Raiders and Broncos can do it... so can we. Trust the system... let go of preconceptions...
The biggest problem for Joe Montana's 49ers was the New York Giants, who beat San Francisco in the playoffs in 1985, 1986, and 1990. The Giants didn't do that by trying to be the 49ers. They formed their own identity.

The same is true with the Baltimore Ravens against Brady's Patriots during Joe Flacco's years. The Ravens kicked the shit out of New England in the playoffs in 2009 and 2012, and they should have beaten the Patriots in the 2011 AFC Championship Game. The Ravens formed their own identity. The same is true of Tom Coughlin's Giants and Peyton Manning's Broncos against Brady's Patriots.

Jim Harbaugh is not Andy Reid. We brought Harbaugh here to beat the Chiefs and win the Super Bowl. That won't happen if Harbaugh tries to make us BE the Chiefs. And he WON'T do that. We're going to be a very different team than the Chiefs, and we will be their biggest problem once Harbaugh has the right players to accomplish what he has set out for--multiple Super Bowl titles.

Okay, so would it be fair to say we'll be mostly a ground and pound O, with a few passes to keep the opposing D from stacking the box?

Here's a vid about Malik Nabers, with a lot of film of his high school days, where he played a lot at defensive back, and kept getting Pick 6's.

The guy is a football player.

Why MALIK NABERS is the MOST ELITE WR in the 2024 NFL Draft (His Insane Rise) (youtube.com)

Odunze has absolutely everything you could want in a receiver, except elite speed. I love Nabers, but would NOT be disappointed in the least to come away from the draft with Odunze.

If Burford had stuck to his assignment the 49ers likely score a touchdown on that play.

With the game on the line, during the winning drive in overtime, Kelce caught one pass. How exactly does that lead to you stating a tight end won the Super Bowl?
In regulation with the Chiefs down by 3 Kelce caught a 22 yards pass to set up the tying FG. That was a 3 and 7 play. Without that play the Chiefs may lose the
game. Kelce was top receiver for KC on that day.

I don't remember the play you are referring to. The one that I remember was Purdy was blitzed and had to throw the ball away. That came from a safely blitz on the
right side. Not disputing your play. But what does that have to do with Kelce?
