Yep...there were a lot of red flags, first from the players, later from the media. When some of the bolder reporters started questioning Staley about his complex Pattern Match scheme, and that it wasn't working, Staley reacted like a snapping turtle getting poked in the nose...

not just that.... Staley was obsessed with super political correctness..... after a horrible embarrassing game, Staley would tell the public that they had the righrt game plan and the players were "expressing themselves" or that "they were connected"???,,,, lol,,,,,, Name any real football coach who talks like that???..... he even forced the Chargers broadcast team to use tht same ridicuulous language.... lol

compare him to steelers coach who talks publicly about how football is a violent game..... that requires tough players.....

Another poster was looking for a good pulling OG in round 4...and Zinter IS projected by at least this website to go in round 4...so the slotting is about right...plus, Zinter is familiar with the type of offense Harbo likes to run...those are some reasons, but of course, if the Bolts are looking for an OG in rounds 3-5 or so, and they have someone else rated higher than Zinter, then I'm sure they go with the higher rated player...no more Pip-like projects, please...

Zinter is a really good prospect, probably the best on UM’s OL and that unit won the Natty. I like him, if we’re going to get an OG early Day3, he might be best on the board around R4. Given we need an OC, and OT would be higher value, idunno if they will target OG. If Trader Joe starts trading down and collecting more Rd 2, 3, 4 picks, it becomes possible. As I said, it wasnt you - Zinter is good. it’s that I’ve seen this running theory often posted and just used this post to test the theory. It’s almost becoming “fact” that Harbaugh will target some UM player because he knows them and/or because they know the system.

lets break down that system shit first - no UM player knows LAC’s 2024 pro system. JH2 are drafting players for the next 5 yrs, not the next 5 weeks or 5 months or 5 games or 5 anything else. They shouldn’t pick an inferior player because he knew the UM system ever. LAC will not be the same, Pros are not the same as NCAA, and a draft pick has a lot of time to learn the new system.

He could take a UM player, but that means JH2 thinks hes the best on the board at that time, not because he knows him better or because the kid knows UM’s system. they were Natty’s after all, somebody there knows how to play. Okay, fair point. We want the best at the slotted spot. Remember, we DO have TWO 4th rounders, so this might be a good spot to take OG...I just don't want Salyer in there again, UNLESS Harbo and Roman can coach him up...still, I want QUALITY O LINE DEPTH, something Trader Joe has been preaching...

The way Harbaugh was talking up the fifth pick in this draft being more like the first pick makes me believe even more that he and Hortiz want to trade down.

Harbaugh today in his interview made mention of McFadden being able to play C when asked about the Bozeman signing….
Bozeman has played G too.
I think the FO feel they are a RT/RG away from having a really good O line and that they already have what they need for the interior.

He was also asked about Salyer and his role. Said he was versatile. Makes me think we’re getting competition for him at RG instead of RT for Pipkins.
