For the record, I am *not* anti-Bowers. In fact, I'd be very happy with the selection of Bowers following a trade down of 4 -5 spots.

His lack of blocking prowess has me raising an eyebrow, especially given the "We're going to out-physical you!" mentality that Jim Harbaugh brings in.

For me? That's it. No other concerns.

I *will* say this, though... Bowers doesn't have the weight room physique that so many NFL players do. So on a subliminal level, I think it's easy to find him less intimidating. What surprises me about Bowers' lack of chiseled-ness is that-- when I covered the Chargers-- there were maybe four or five guys on the entire roster who didn't have 'cut' physiques, and that was all. A guy who isn't especially muscular can *appear* soft, even if he's not.

so now were measuring prospects based on how intimidating they look? Marshal Faulk and Ladanian might've never been drafted...Bowers looks right in a uniform to me he doesn't look like a HS kid, he looks NFL ready, not sure what you guys want, beach muscles? so he's not sexy enough for ya? what he has in his game a lot of that you can't build in the gym, god given spatial awareness, athletic intelligence, agility, balance, reflexes, and those fucking hands that snatch everything like he's catching with velcro gloves...give me production over a guy that looks like the hulk, last I checked Kelce is not built like a body builder either but that doesn't seem to be an issue...

Given that this offense is depended on WRs blocking does can anyone really seeing MJH or Nabers wanting to block? The only one that even looks like they want to block is Odunze. I really don't think the top WRs in this draft any desire to want to block, they are going to want to get their stats. I know conjecture.

To me, the Bowers criticism is as strange as the Herbert stuff from 2020 and Justin was even more of a projection than Bowers is...let's not over think things and just trust what we've seen, the production is there, the tape doesn't lie, and the player is clean off the field...no need to knock Bowers down just because you want someone else, I think some of that is happening here too...

Bowers is a consensus top TE prospect no matter what my assessment is. That should be enough for you.

He’s got a lil Clark when he’s standing in the civilian world, good call. he look super when he’s playing football.

I don’t think they are drafting him. If they did that would be cool but I’m sure they have a great plan. There 100 or more exciting players in this draft and we only got room for maybe 10 of them. We’re not getting them all

If we keep our pick at 5, there’s 5 guys on our short list, more or less. MHJ, Alt, Nabers Odunze, and Bowers. every once in awhile someone throws in a Verse or such. We’ll get one and not get 4 (5 with Verse)

I like guys that look like shit in a uniform. Their bellies barely fit inside. If they have goo dripping out of their helmet or pant leg... even better. They make all the pretty boys look better. There are always big uglies coming after our pretty boys, too. Have more big uglies... most of the time, you'll win that way. If your big uglies also have agility, balance, and reflexes... pick them first.

Last time I checked... Travis Kelce is the only Travis Kelce. Andy Reid is the only Andy Reid. So why build a team that tries to look like Andy Reid and Travis Kelce are on your team...? Jim Harbaugh is about as far away from Andy Reid as could be. Maybe that's how you beat Andy Reid... Do something Andy could never fathom in a million years. Build something that looks like Jim Harbaugh... and Greg Roman... and Jesse Minter. Our team should start looking more like the Ravens and Wolverines which each and every pick.

I like Corum. I like Lloyd. I like Wright. Ray Davis... Audric Estime... Braelen Allen... there are a lot of RB's to like. I bet Harbaugh and Roman will find one they like. If you put the best Big Uglies in front of them... they all start to look good.
