I enjoy his takes and find the Stock Exchange informative and entertaining. I think Trevor Sikkema knows more than you to be frank

Is Jeremiah an idiot? Because he has scouted for an NFL team , works for NFL as their premier draft anaylyst and knows people in the Charger building obviously.
Sikkema works for a clown show and knows nothing. His takes are horrible. Making it even worse, the guy on that show with him is an even bigger idiot if that were possible.

I never called Jeremiah an idiot.
He’s an actual knowledgeable NFL guy with real contacts.

      Nobody tells the truth.

I still don't see Latham the pick at 5
I am starting to wonder. The arrow is pointing to OL and I have heard it is Hortiz pushing that. If you think about the physical power run game these guys talk about ad nauseum who is the most prototypical plug and play RT mauler? Alt or Latham?

Fuck I hope we find a way to trade down to make this more palatable.

This isnt the mock they would pick, it is the mock based on what they are hearing from sources and what they thnk is going to happen.

The drumbeat that the Charger are going OL is getting louder. We all assumed Joe Alt but what these guys are saying is that Harbaugh will want a a big mauling power run blocker that is a plug and play RT.

Sikkema also said he doesnt think Vikings will trade up if Patriots take Maye at 3. Taking Latham at 11 was likley fine with everyone but it will take some getting used to taking Latham at 5 while Nabers and Odunze are sitting there.

In his final mock, Sikkema thinks McCarthy hangs around until #11 for the Vikes...I just don't see it, with all the QB hungry teams out there. Oh, and he also has us taking Latham @#5:

The draft is now less than 24 hours away, so let’s get right to it. Using both what I’ve watched and what I’ve heard, I have constructed my final predictive mock for the 2024 NFL Draft.

I dont think it is a clown show, I think it is a younger approach. You are sounding a little old and crusty lol

Latham at 5 would be a shock, but it makes some sense. He is huge, strong, a natural right tackle who might also be able to play guard. According to Brugler's "The Beast" guide, takes pride in his self-given nickname "Trench King". More of a natural fit for us than Alt, given Slater's stranglehold on left tackle. Not crazy about the value, and many have Fuaga a tick ahead. But in the end, if that's the guy Harbaugh thinks he needs to help establish that this team will be a tough, dominant, take-no-prisoners line of scrimmage team, and he doesn't want to risk waiting to pick him on a trade-down, I'm fine with it.

Still hoping that Hortiz would be able to trade back and still pick whoever they really want to pick. If they do want Latham, I wonder if they might be worried that Tennessee at seven might pick him. But unless Alt's stock is lower than we think, the Titans would appear to need a left tackle over a right tackle. Maybe they would worry about the Jets at 10. With Fuaga and Latham so close in value to many evaluators, and options for other teams at left tackle, I think the risk of a trade-down is reasonable, and worth it. But in the end, in Jim (and Joe) I trust.

I don’t know if it’s making a living. I think it’s more trying not to get a real job.
I don’t want my football takes on a cheesedick website. I already have a successful career.

Actually, there are some stories of some of these draft gurus and their biggest misses...like this one on Mel Kiper:

As we celebrate 25 years of Mel Kiper's infamous war with Bill Tobins that showered the limelight on NFL draft once and for all, the 35-year-long glittering

Yup and so does Charger announcer Jeremiah have us taking Latham at 5 in his final mock draft

I said I wouldn't listen to the rumors the night before the draft, but now I am. Lol.

What the scouts said in Bob McGinn's article on the offensive linemen. Latham was ranked second--one spot below Alt and one above Fuaga. Maybe most of us have overlooked him, in the sense that we have been saying Alt at #5 and Fuaga at #11 but not much about Latham. Perhaps Harbaugh thinks Latham hasn't come close to reaching his full potential--and this coaching staff will get that out of him.

                        2. JC LATHAM, Alabama (6-5 ½, 343, no 40, 1): Mississippi-born, he played two years of high-school ball in suburban Milwaukee before finishing with two years at IMG Academy (Fla.) “Sort of well-traveled,” one scout said. “He’s still very young (turned 21 in February). He’s got a big upside in what he can be over the next two, three years. He’s such a huge, powerful person. He’s only played right tackle but I think he could play some left tackle. He could be a guard.” Third-year junior, two-year starter at RT. “Has a physical skill set to be a Pro Bowl guard or Pro Bowl tackle,” a second scout said. “Has lateral agility, exceptional power and size to move people in the run game. Needs to be more consistent as a tackle in the passing game. With bumpers inside as a guard he should shut anybody down. He’s more destructive as a run blocker than (Taliese) Fuaga, but not as consistent.” Josaiah Stewart (6-1, 245), Michigan’s lean edge rusher, went right through Latham to foil a two-point conversion run to end the game and hand the Crimson Tide a CFP semifinal defeat. “Here’s a 340-pound dude that’s athletic as can be and built like a damn house and the little guy, No. 5 (Stewart), runs him over,” a third scout said. “That’s the kind of guy he is. I’ve never seen a guy just stand and watch plays as much as this guy. I wasn’t crazy about the guy from there a couple years ago, Evan Neal, and he turned out to be a disappointment. He’s kind of cut from the same cloth. They tease you a little bit but ultimately you wonder, ‘Does this guy like football? Does he really want to be out there?’ He flashes some Pro Bowl stuff and then some stuff you really don’t want him on your team.” Arms were 35 1/8, hands were 11. “He’s got more ability than Paris (Johnson) but Paris was much more instinctive and aware, which is a huge, huge deal,” said a fourth scout. “What worries me a little bit is if you play him inside because when he struggles it’s (against) games and second-level defenders. There seems to be a lot of confusion there. With Latham, when it’s me and you the end, he doesn’t lose. All his (problems) come on twists, games, stunts, movement.” From Oak Creek, Wis.

I would prefer Latham @#11, but if the Bolts can't swing that deal with the Vikes, Latham or Fuaga @#5 would not be terrible reaches...they're both RT's which avoids the Alt questionable switch idea to RT...so, if Latham fits what Harbo and Trader Joe and Roman want to do with the ground game, go for it...
