That would leave us with at least one of Bowers, Nabers, or Alt with pick #8, and we'd likely pick up an additional 2nd and 3rd rounder in the process at the very least.

I think its semi-realistic too, as I can see teams potentially wanting to get in front of New York for a QB.
Welcome - see its your first point

For a second rounder from Atlanta - I probably do it. For a 3rd rounder - would need another pick like a future 3rd as well

From 2006 to 2020 Rivers avg yards per completion every single year was well over 10yds per catch.
For Rivers career it's 12.0 Yards per completion. I'd hardly say that is plodding. Know what the GOAT Brady is for his career per competition. 11.5 per completion.
        Peyton Manning 11.7 per completion.

So this idea that we plodded then stalled is a lie.
The fact is they stalled because the OL didn't give Rivers or the RBs what they needed to punch the ball in. But they had plenty of chunk plays. Teams don't typical score TDs with big yards as teams try not to let opponents get behind them. Between the 20s team can move chains. But once In Redzone. You have to be able to run the damn ball in which make play action work better in the redzone as well. But if your OL isn't very good then you struggle to execute plays when field gets condensed.
And Rivers has to do it all by himself. Or force it to Gates real quick before he gets sacked. All because the OL isn't very good.

        Come on Man!
Chargers were not a plodding team. Haven't been forever.
They are a chunk play passing team that cannot win in the trenches when they need to. You know it and so do all these other fans.

So you don't believe we were plodding. I did a little research on NFL.com on offenses of Rivers career

Herbert has a stronger arm than Rivers. They need to give him a player who has play making ability plus speed.

Doesn't have to be the 1st round but they need to add that dimension to the offense

Harbaugh's leading wide receivers in San Francisco during his run of three straight NFC Championship game appearances.

2011: Michael Crabtree (72 receptions for 874 yards and four touchdowns).
2012: Michael Crabtree (85 receptions for 1,102 yards and nine touchdowns). Super Bowl appearance.
2013: Anquan Boldin (85 receptions for 1,179 yards and five touchdowns).

Frank Gore rushed for 1,211, 1,214, and 1,128 yards during those years.

Alex Smith averaged 28 passing attempts a game in his one full year as a starter under Harbaugh in San Francisco.

Colin Kaepernick averaged 28 passing attempts a game in his two full years as a starter under Harbaugh in San Francisco.

During his two years as a starter under Harbaugh at Stanford, Andrew Luck averaged 26 passing attempts a game. His college high was 31 attempts a game as a senior, when David Shaw was the head coach. Toby Gerhart rushed for 1,871 yards and 28 touchdowns during Luck's first year as a starter. Gerhart was a Heisman Trophy candidate. Stepfan Taylor rushed for 1,137 yards and 15 touchdowns during Luck's second season. The leading receivers those two years were Ryan Whalen (57 receptions for 926 yards and four touchdowns) in 2009 and Doug Baldwin (58 receptions for 857 yards and nine touchdowns) in 2010.

Over the last two years J.J. McCarthy has averaged 23 passing attempts a game. Blake Corum rushed for 1,463 yards and 18 touchdowns last season, and 1,111 yards and 25 touchdowns this year. Corum's backup, Donovan Edwards, rushed for 991 yards and seven touchdowns last season, and 393 yards and three touchdowns this season. The leading receivers the last two years were Ronnie Bell (62 receptions for 889 yards and four touchdowns) in 2022 and Roman Wilson (45 receptions for 735 yards and 12 touchdowns) this season.

It will be interesting to see what Harbaugh will do if Herbert is his quarterback. Other than Luck at Stanford, Harbaugh hasn't had one like Herbert.

Explosive plays are not always about the QBs arm..... A ton of times its YAC

Go look at some of Jamar Chase's plays. Short throw....he gone

But where's the trophy? Who is Tyrell running past when it's 3rd and goal and you need the TD?

No trophy because we are a plodding offense....LOL

Also not having a top 10 rushing attack since 2007 really hurts the play-action game and big plays.

The big difference is Gore. They had a run game which the Chargers haven't had in what like 3 yrs minimum? We need a stud running back either from the draft or through FA.
