Picks this year are generally tradeable for higher picks next year. Just to balance things out.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

The #5 value is much more than a 11th and 23rd.
It will be MHJ or a QB.

Tons of good receivers and they have 4 day two picks.

Trading your 7th each year for the 6th next year ?

                I'd take Minnesota's 11 and 23 for sure.
I don't know if they'd pay that much... but it is for a QB. Minnesota is desperate.

#1-3 are QB's. #4 Arizona takes MHJ. We trade back with Minnesota to get #11 and #23.

                #11 RT

My best guess is AZ takes Marvin after QBs go 1-3.
Chargers sitting pretty still if NY really wants JJ.
Minn with the trade today shows they don’t want to overdraft Penix or Nix at 11?
Feels like if NE goes QB Minn has to overpay to get that pick from the Chargers away from the Giants.
Hopelly NY drives their price higher forcing them to cough up those 1sts for 5 & 110.

The Cardinals have no pass rushers and 2nd rate corner backs .... jags everywhere except at safety.
Wide receiver is one of their many problems.

They can use more high draft picks.

I got this from a Minnesota Vikings fan forum about why JJ McCarthy is rising up draft boards.

The reason JJ is rising up the boards is that Scouts & Analysts are going back and watching tape.

He had a lot of 2nd & Long and 3rd & Long plays where the Defense doubled Wilson and he had to make big time throws under duress to guys who won't be playing in the NFL. And he made them.

McCarthy is very cool and calm when pressured. Penix, Nix and even Maye are not. He has that rare trait of keeping his eyes tied to his feet when he has to scramble in the pocket or vacate it. The major knock on Maye is that his footwork gets bad the second he sees any potential pressure.

Maye also played in a system with fast half-field reads the same as Nix. Both lived in Shotgun. McCarthy was reading full fields and regularly going through all of his progressions. From under Center. You have to when you have 1 good receiver and a bunch of average dudes.

And yes, the age thing is really important. In the NFL the rule of thumb is that kids that are 23/24 years old are most of the way towards their ceilings. They're already pretty much who they're going to be as Pros. Younger guys like JJ (just turned 21) have more runway ahead of them to develop.

If he was 23 he'd probably be a late teens/early twenties pick. But he's already around the same level as Nix and Penix and still has lots of headroom to keep growing.

Zerlein just mocked him to the Broncos at #12 and he's massively tied into Front Offices. The NFL is really high on this kid.

I expect JJ McCarthy to be drafted somewhere in the top-12 picks. Too early to rule anything out.
