Hortiz/Harbaugh aren’t trading out of 5 for a future 1 and a mid teens 1st round pick and a 4th or something so they can get a RT while passing on this kind of talent.
As Harbaugh said at the owners meeting, they see 5 as the #1 pick. Translation- If you want it, you are going to pay big to get it. Think Julio Jones trade. And that goes for Nabers too. If MH2 is gone by 5 that means there is a QB there. Whoever is moving up is doing it for a premium player. They are gonna pay period. And if it’s a divisional team?!? That price tag is even steeper. This ain’t TJMaxx…

One aspect that a lot of folks aren’t realizing is the NYG are sitting at 6….
They've already said they are done with Daniel Jones…
    And they need WRs….

The chances of the player teams want being there past 6 are extremely slim…so Hortiz will have all the leverage….

Interestingly enough that article I posted has Odunze higher than Nabers and going to the Giants if we stay at 5 and pick MHJ.
Sidenote: if we stay at #5, I would try to trade down from 37 if possible unless a blue chip CB falls to us there.

      6. New York Giants: Rome Odunze, WR, Washington

The Giants have an underwhelming quarterback situation with Daniel Jonesreturning and Drew Lock now in the mix. I could see them tempted to get into the top three for a promising QB, but receiver is also a big need, and here they’ll have their choice of two studs in Odunze and Malik Nabers. Both are dazzling, but after drafting a blazer from the SEC last year in Jalin Hyatt, the hunch is they go for the bigger, more physical Odunze.

The 6-foot-3, 212-pound Odunze isn’t quite as fast as Nabers, but he is really explosive. The former track standout from Las Vegas clocked a 4.45 40 at the combine with a 1.52 10-yard split, a 39-inch vertical and a 4.03 shuttle time. His film is even more impressive than his workout numbers. Last season, he had 92 catches for 1,640 yards and 13 touchdowns. Everyone who has been around him comes away impressed. His ball skills are truly elite.

“His focus is awesome,” a former Washington assistant told The Athletic, adding that Odunze would come back to the sideline and could tell coaches exactly how many times the ball rotated before it got to him. From the feedback I got from NFL folks and others who had been around him during the combine run-up, I came away thinking that Odunze is the other receiver alongside Harrison closest to being a can’t-miss prospect.

      The Coaching Intel
“(He is) as good as we’ve faced (in two decades as a college coach). Unbelievable with the ball in the air. Fantastic hands. Very good route runner. Good size. Good competitor. He is as good at tracking the ball as I’ve ever seen. That 50-50 ball, he had to have been 85 percent or better at those.”

“He can play inside or outside and eat you up. He’s very polished and has a lot in his bag. He makes great adjustments and is very, very strong. He’s the alpha receiver who bullies guys whenever there’s a contested catch. I know people talked a lot about Marvin Harrison and we never played him, but if he’s better than this guy, man, that’s really saying something.”

If I’m trading with DEN I’ve already explained in the preliminary talks about even agreeing to this trade that they need to have 2 1sts in this draft, no later than 27 for the 2nd 1st, and Patrick Surtain is packing his bags for the Chargers…

I still don't like the idea of helping a team in our division...why help them out? Let them get help from someone else...

Thats why we need to rape them if we do. I dont fear Penix in our division though so let Telesco draft him and give us a future 1st in 2025 plus their second and third rounders. TT will fuck up the rest of their draft.

                005) Fuaga * 'tis not a matter of who's better, 'tis more a matter of which one do you like ?? you will never hear someone call Alt's anchor "incredible," nor Fuaga's lateral agility elite. Fuaga was noticeably ahead of anyone last year in terms of run blocking, and Alt can much more easily slide over to LT if Rashawn goes down again. and for myself, not only do I like the idea of Polynesian guys on our SoCal squad, eye just really relish the Taliese intangibles, and whereas on the other side of the coin, Harbaugh's staff is twentysomething white folks, and don't know if there is a comfort level for anyone there, (somewhere) along those lines ?? and for peoples throwing numbers around, there is little difference between Fuaga 'n Alt, as Taliese allowed exactly zero sacks over his college career, not many pressures, hits nor the like neither.

                037) Sinnott * always thought HH was a reach middle of the second, and guessing most will look @Ben as the same, and.... just not in the mood to miss on him, unless of course someone drops that is too good of a value to pass up, and.... would really like a second pick here to nab a DB, and.... Sinnott is just as good if not better a blocker than Brock, and he's got no problem catching the ball.... the dropoff between him and Bowers is not as extreme/steep as others here would have us believe. like the Dissly p/u, but not so sure I wouldn't have preferred CJ Ozumah over Hurst. perfect spot for Sinnott to come in and get it done.

                069) Cedric Gray * 'nother guy that just really like his intangibles, and think he gets it done @LB for us. he def has the production and can pick up where Denzel leaves (us) off.

                105) Joe Milton * am happy for young John that he was able to convince Joe that we needed to get Stick back in the mix, and.... just completely underwhelming, and.... this guy is a huge project, which is perfect in that Justin ain't going anywhere, and this guy will have all the time in world he needs to develop. he obviously has the measurables, and can sling it. could be fun to see him turn into something.

                110) Daijun Edwards * recall early on when I was first becoming a draftnik, and would see certain players slotted, and wonder why they weren't higher, and alotta times it was just the case, and they would turn out much better than the pundits had prognosticated for them. think this guy could be one of the those guys, as RB, like some other positions of note.... just not overly enamored by any one guy in particular. this guy's got some shimmy 'n shammy to him, and sure seems like it's just a matter of time during the game, before he breaks one off.... he's slippery.

                140) Tylan Grable
                181) Miyan Williams
                225) Jordan Magee
                253) Keilan Robinson
LB CJ Allen, LT Caleb Lomu, OC Parker Brailsford, RB Demond Claiborne, TE Justin Joly, NT Dontay Corleone, OC Bryce Foster, CB Josh Moten, LB Eric Gentry

Exactly. So I’m taking them to the cleaners…
If they want JJ fine, but you’ll pay so much to
me that your team even with him will never be better when looking at this trade. 2 1’s in this draft and arguably the best CB in the entire NFL on his last year of his rookie deal as the Chargers are going to have plenty in FA next year to do a long term deal with him.
All that to move from 12 to 5…
OK. I now feel confident in Harbaugh being able to handle JJ/Maye in the division with Payton for the next 15 years…

Mack, Bosa, Tuli, Samuel, Alohi, James, Surtain…..

And I haven’t even drafted a single defensive player in the draft yet..

Poppycock! And it isnt just us here...NOBODY compares Sinnott to Bowers in any capacity!

And any WR on the board at that pick would be a better value than Sinnott. Not to mention DT and CB. Sinnott at 37 is not a value.

I don't think Surtain would be an option for Denver to trade. Don't see it - but you never know

That doesn't mean I would close the door on the Broncos. It would just have to be a massive overpay. But they have an arrogant HC in Payton and he might just be open for business.

I don’t think you are understanding the bigger picture.
To do a divisional trade for a franchise QB is rare.
And it’s rare because the outcome could very well bite you in the ass publicly and you look like a complete idiot with your fan base and the endless butt of jokes with the trading teams fan base if that QB you allowed to be traded for turns into a franchise QB. Your team will forever be looked at as the fools that made that trade. GMs know this.
I do not think Harbaugh is going to start his coaching career in LA trading his QB that he won a National Championship with to a division rival much less one with Sean Payton as it’s HC, unless he’s got the immediate upper hand in the trade.

So Surtain who’s a proven, pro bowl level, rookie commodity is coming to LA. If not, no deal.
Along with him is 2 1’s this year. However DEN does that, is their business but they need to do it for this draft. Use next years picks to find a way into another 1st this year. Don’t care how they do it, but I’d start with AZ.
Next years draft isn’t even close in talent to this one.
That’s why DEN is do desperate to trade up for a QB in the 1st place. That’s why this whole trade is happening. Next years QB class is meh..and Denver knows it. So I’m using that leverage.

But Jeremiah said that switching firsts for the Jets 2nd round pick in 2025 will do?
Some are so desperate for that RT without reaching, they'd jump at it.
