I would be shocked if they drafted Fuaga at #5.

        IMV #5 is either MHJ-WR or J.Alt-OT

And it all has to do with #3 NE and #4 ARZ.

It seems to be a given that CHI and WAS will select QBs.

So, at 3 does NE take MHJ, QB, trade out?

Does a team want to jump over ARZ to get WR#1. MHJ?

Does ARZ actually trade out if MHJ is still there?

Chargers keep saying if 4 QBs go then we have first pick
If it does happen, then what?
If it does not happen, then what?

Hortiz isn't interested in a fair trade to move away from good players.

Would Hortiz consider a trade up to #3 for MHJ?

Or do they just sit there and think we like these 2 players and know we will get one at #5. So let's just take that player, unless someone wants to give up a ton of draft capital.

Who has it better than us?

Ben Solak’s final mock with us trading down with the Vikings and getting both their 1sts and a 2025 second rounder (which currently doesn’t exist 😅). Outside of that big slip, it feels like the most accurate mock so far though I think I prefer Fuega at 11 if we’re getting an OL. He can start at RG immediately this year and RT as well if Pipkins falters.

I would LOVE us fans to post our 1st round mock draft here and see how we compare against each other and the "pros".
Very simple rules that follow the huddle reports rating system. You don't get a bonus for predicting a trade.
-You get 1 point for if this player was drafted in the first round. If you have D. Maye going to the Commanders and her goes to Giants you still get one point, even if you pick the correct order.
-you get 2 points if your selection matches the team that pick them. Example: You choose the Vikes at #11 to take JJ but they trade up to #5 and take JJ. You would still get 2 points, plus another point for him being a 1st. rounder.
-3 points is the most you can get for a player.

If there any way for the moderators to keep track of the points for each poster and let us know after the draft how we did?

              01) Chicago * QB Caleb Williams * imminent/inevitable.... call it whatyu want, and.... he's someone Chitown can get excited about, and personally.... think the sooner he learns to lean on Keenan, the better.

              02) Washington * QB JJ McCarthy * think there's been a little too much static on the line for the Jayden Daniels thing to happen, as @some point, there is some truth to the matter, and.... hard to fathom that there isn't @least some faction somewhere within the DC ranks that still harbors some fear from the RG3 fiasco.... Daniels is really good, and.... dude leaves himself exposed in the open field quite a bit, ala Griffin. and re: McCarthy, think the thing that carries the day, is that he wins, which is better than scrambling, running, passing, arm strength and the whatnot, and not to mention DC was home to Billy Kilmer.

              03) Vegas * QB Jayden Daniels * the Pats have made noise that they're not overly enamored w/either of the Plan B QBs, and there was speculation that Wolf wanted to amass picks, albeit that he liked JJ, and.... now that dude is off the board, and if true that they don't lean Daniels nor Drake, and given that TT has a history of offloading his second and third to NE for a first, not to mention deferring to his HC, who apparently wants Daniels, could see this happening, albeit could see it costing TT his job eventually, if not Pierce as well, and 'specially given that it'll prolly cost 'em a 2025 first as well ?? and personally do see some compatibility between Maye & Mayo, but that could be venturing into Anthony Lynn territory, w/a repeat of Herbert & Tyrod, which might not be in everybody's best interest, and given that there is fair sentiment out there that Maye might not be all that ??

              04) Giants * WR Marvin Harrison * not sure 'bout this one, and even tho consensus is that Malik is a good get, not sure that is a shared opinion, and.... prolly not a good idea to burn the third rounder it would cost to move up, but you def eliminate the character concern w/Nabers by moving up for Marvin. and can't see NY moving off of Jones quite yet, as his Oline was the League bottom dweller, and his receiving corps were nothing to write home about neither. Telesco could share that being top heavy in talent and without the requisite roster depth is a questionable way to build just the such, and.... it's New York.... good luck Joe.

              05) Minny * QB Drake Maye * he fits here w/O'Connell 'n Josh McCown. and not sure how overly astute the GM is here, albeit think most are believers in their HC. lotta questions as to whether Maye is NFL material over the long haul, and.... Cousins is no longer, and in the not for long League, 'tis usually a good idea to have a starting caliber QB behind center and in the mix. and missed the story how Hortiz isn't taking a fair deal, as do think the fair deal is 11, 23 and their 2025 third round comp pick, and which is enough, @least speaking for myself, 'specially if we can trade down again from 23.

              06) Az * WR Rome Odunze * fully transparent here, as this mock is rigged in that have long suspected that this guy ends up in the Grand Canyon state, and that he could well end up being the most productive of the bunch. think he fits well w/Murray, and do think it's a good idea to nab an extra third in the deal.

              07) Tennessee * OT Joe Alt * he mighta made a good Charger, but just not convinced that he's the best fit for a GRo ground game, and not to mention we'd be playing him @RT, and when his lateral agility suggests he's more of a pass protector than road grader, even tho pass blocking is a requirement on both sides of the line. and not sure he's the better get than Fashanu, but consensus seems to say he is ??

              08) Atlanta * ED Dallas Turner * little bit lazy here, as not lookin' to reinvent the wheel, and gonna just assume he lands here. they are pretty loaded on O, and am sure a Malik or Thomas could be tempting, and sometimes too much of a good thing, is too much.... defense does rate, and Turner seems to have the requisite pkg to do damage @end in the League.

              09) Chicago * WR Malik Nabers * sink or swim, do or die, live by the sword, die by the sword.... gotta keep your superstar QB happy, 'specially when he makes waves like wanting a percentage/piece of ownership of the the team (reminds me of the USC safety that was represented by his brother, that AJ had a hard time/delay in signing).... personally would be drafting Fashanu and not thinking twice 'bout things, and.... Nabers is a tantalizing talent, and if Keenan is just there for this next year, it would be desirable to have Malik ready in waiting to fill those shoes. if nothing else, could be fun in the Windy City.

              10) Jets * TE Brock Bowers * normally this would be an OT, but they made early moves in FA, and for better or worse, and so.... the consensus is that ARod wants another pass catcher, which spells BB by most accounts, and of whom will have every chance to show out in the Big Apple. NY is fully loaded w/MW, GW, Breece Hall and now Brock.... the only question is can Aaron stay upright long enough ??

              11) LAC * RT Taliese Fuaga * think the O is pretty much patched up, save for RT/RG.... we've got two starting caliber RBs, two TEs, two WRs (personally would add Tyler Boyd as our Keenan lite replacement, and nab someone later in the draft for WR5 and be done w/things there), and we've got the left side of the line penciled in as well. and 'twas a fine idea to let Jamaree compete w/Pips for the starting RT job, but the safer/sounder tact is to move Salyer to swing, as we know how he is if called upon to spell Rashawn, and guessing he'd be just fine as our jumbo pkg OL6 as well, and.... hoping he'll improve @RG, is just unnecessary conjecture, and whether we get our RG in FA or via the draft, just thinkin' if I'm Jimbo/GRo, thinking just as well not to take a chance there, and make sure we have a bona fide RG to plug in there, and.... there is little to no conjecture re: Taliese, as dude is obviously well suited to implement Harbaugh football.... start this thing off on the right foot, and on the right side of this rebuilt/retooled Oline.

              12) Denver * QB Bo Nix * am sure there are better position players available, and.... Sean has a vacancy @QB, and waiting ain't gonna solve nuthin'.... and like Maye, there are plenty o' peoples less than convinced that Bo knows ball, and.... that was a complaint that some had about Herbert, was that the majority of his completions were shorties, and as he wasn't quite as good w/the longball and midrange game. bottom line is that peoples got their jobs on the line, and you don't play ball in the NFL without a QB, and.... of course eye would still contend that Stidham is the better QB outta the two.

              13) NE * WR Brian Thomas * had no idea how gutted the Pats offense is.... not sure Marvin wouldn't be the better add, but the draft picks are def gonna help ol' Eliot, as he needs breadth and depth badly. and don't think Thomas warrants a pick this high, and they def could use some Oline help, and.... gonna give them the skill player ahead of the trenches, and despite that we know it's beef before gazelles.

              14) Saints * Olumuyiwa Fashanu * this org has a history of making Oline a priority, and w/a talent like Olumuyiwa landing in their laps, can't see them leaving him behind, as his intangibles are otherworldly, and he has the physical tools to go w/them, not to mention he's got room to grow and to be coached up. could be the best OT outta the bunch when all is said & done ??

I’m in the Minnesota trade-down group for 11 and 23 and a 2025 1st. Final mock. Final answer. Flame away. Actually, be gentle.

                11. Brock Bowers TE Georgia. No surprise here. The ultimate mismatch. TE, Big Slot, Fullback, Halfback. “true versatility” is a theme in my mock. “True versatility” means “playing multiple positions at a high levels” and not just mediocre; The future weapon 1 of the LAC. Absolute best fit for our offense. The prime weapon Herbert never had--Keenan Allen’s true replacement in a run-dominant offense. YAC to priority redzone TDs and first downs (TOP). Clutch to make important catches when needed (see Jacksonville debacle) and will get extra 2 yards when needed. Best hands in draft imho. Offense will run through BB. G-Ro is a creative OC and now has his muse. The ceiling is Kelce, the floor is La Porta. The entire offense will run through BB depending on his assignment on any given play. The true embodiment of the Harbaugh era (toughness, competitiveness and championship caliber play on every down).

                23. Cooper DeJean, DB Iowa. True versatility on a defense lacking depth at boundary, slot and FS. I think Cooper is a special athlete, player and competitor. My vision is a strong defense down the middle where lesser QBs depend on making completions. Force QBs to throw outside. DeJean with James, Alohi, Henley, Perryman and my 2nd round pick, makes this a stable defense down the middle. (stops the run and makes tackles at goal line). Woods can be tried at CB or cut frankly because tackling is priority. I trust Minter to know how best to use him and mitigate any limits (pick the correct matchups and responsibilities). Extra value as a punt returner to free up Davis as a fulltime WR.

                37. Junior Colson LB Michigan. 6'2" 238LBS. Dane Brugler’s number 1 rated LB in a shallow LB draft. So happens to be familiar with the Minter scheme and will be an instant leader on the defense, plug and play. JC is the identity of the Minter defense (toughness, physicality and motor). Under-rated Athlete. The “Junior/LB” we’ve been missing since our GOAT (RIP55).

                69. Braden Fiske iDL Florida St. 6'3" 292LBS. Best Trench value. 3T Interior pressure to compliment edge talent. MOTOR and intangibles. Physically very strong and quick to beat OGs. Will not give up on any play and sets an effort standard on the interior. He is raw and needs coaching, only really started consistently since 2021 and played offense line in high school. Pandemic, injury etc. He will naturally get out leveraged with short arms on occasion but what he’s shown thus far it’s easy to see him being a part of a DL rotation for years to come.

                105. Kiran Amegadjie OT Yale. 6’5” 323LBS. The perfect physical specimen (athletic with great length and good weight) to develop into a starting OT but also as a great swing tackle role this year and challenge Pipkins next year. His experience is at OLT which is important for me, I want my Swing to be a natural LOT in case Slater goes down. I’m much more comfortable with asking a 4th rounder to position-switch than a 1st round guy like Alt. Roman uses a 3rd OT more frequently than others OCs in Jumbo. Jim is 100% dedicated to developing a dominant OL and it starts with the physical traits attached to work ethic and KA has them both. A poor man’s Mims and needs Ben Herbert’s help too.

                110. DeCamerion Richardson, CB Mississippi St. Tall, athletic CB great against the run. 4.34 at 6’2”. Raw and has no ball-skills but can develop into an outside boundary CB. Relies on his athleticism to bail him out but has improved every year and is also a great ST guy. Returned a blocked FG 50 yards for TD.

                140. Nathan Thomas, OT/OG Louisiana-Lafayette. 6’5” 332. Honestly, I was more sold from the NFL Stock Exchange podcast episode. OT but will kick inside and develop into a dominant OG. Finishers mentality, anchors vs speed2power. Upper body torque and studious are descriptions. This a hungry guy that will devel advantage of top tier OL coaching and provide the depth we need to keep Herbo healthy. I still have Zion as a candidate for long-term, OC heir.

                181. Bub Means, WR Pittsburgh. 6’1” 212LBS. This is our guy. Doesn’t get open but able to handle Herbert’s fastballs. Natural, big and strong hands and tough in traffic. Catch radius. YAC. Can develop into an X in this offense. 94% explosion score (great athlete).

                225. Braiden McGregor, EDGE Michigan. 6’5” 254LBS. A Jim-guy. Hockey background. Athlete, raw. Tons of upside learning next to pros like Bosa and Mack.

                253. Nick Samac, OC Michigan State. 6’4” 307LBS. Outstanding run blocker who needs to improve as a pass blocker but has a fighting chance to stick on a Greg Roman offense. Especially with another Nick (Hardwick) helping him understand how to survive as an under-sized OC.

                  Mock Scenario for Thursday Night.
All this talk about ARZ and LAC as trade spots. And instead its NE who moves back to 11 and gets three 1sts and two 3rds from MIN. Cardinals and Chargers don't move anywhere.
                  They simply pick the BPA.

NE would be fools to do that. They do that their GM needs to be fired during the draft. Brissett is a mentor to whichever QB they draft at #3.

They are picking 3rd. Next year's QB class isn't going to be as good and chances are they won't be picking 3rd again.
They can also draft receivers there after. You don't build up your roster and then draft a QB. Even with Brissitt they likely won't be picking third again.

What top drafted rookie QB always go into a good situation? Almost zero! Those teams stink for a reason unless it is a Chicago that owns somebody else's top pick.
