WR is more of a consideration, and Joe did hellah good by moving up to nab his young Ladd....

    60 Zay Flowers
    58 Ladd McConkey
    55 George Pickens
    75 Malik Nabers
    36 Jordan Addison
    43 Tee Higgins
    44 Keenan Allen
    41 DeAndre Hopkins
    24 Quentin Johnston
    22 Keon Coleman
    24 Joshua Palmer
    25 Brandon Aiyuk
    32 Tyler Boyd
    13 Mike Williams
    11 Ricky Pearsall
    12 JuJu Smith Schuster
    12 Ja'Lynn Polk
    16 Luke McCaffrey
    06 Simi Fehoko
    06 Derius Davis
    06 Jalen Reagor
    04 Treylon Burks

so do we need a(nother) top ten receiver, and/or a top three TE, or do we trust in Joe to round out our offensive repertoire, and.... all in good time ??
LB CJ Allen, LT Caleb Lomu, OC Parker Brailsford, RB Demond Claiborne, TE Justin Joly, NT Dontay Corleone, OC Bryce Foster, CB Josh Moten, LB Eric Gentry

      43 Mark Andrews
      31 Sam LaPorta
      42 Cole Kmet
      41 Pat Freiermuth
      33 Isaiah Likely
      39 Mike Gesicki
      40 David Njoku
      41 Dalton Schultz
      34 Dalton Kincaid
      43 Evan Engram

      08 Michael Mayer
      07 Gerald Everett
      05 Luke Musgrave
      04 Ben Sinnott
      03 Stone Smartt

personally am improving upon the latter and not the former....
      Pretty disingeniius list.

Njoku, Engram, Hockenson, Kincaid, Ferguson, have all missed considerable games due to injury and are all better players than Will Dissly.

This also the career year for Dissly, he has never before had 35 catches in all the years he has played.

Why dont you do a TE TD list...an important function of a good TE is red zone...especially for an offense than cant score TDs. There are 34 TEs who have more TDs than Dissly.

and @RB JK is just a tick below 5 YPC @4.8, and while Gus checks in @3.4 YPC....

        6.1 Saquon Barkley
        4.2 Kyren Williams
        4.9 Chuba Hubbard
        5.5 Bucky Irving
        3.9 D'Andre Swift
        3.7 Kareem Hunt
        4.8 Austin Ekeler
        3.5 Zach Charbonnet
        2.9 Roschon Johnson
        3.6 Braelon Allen
        5.9 Isaac Guerendo
        2.8 Trey Sermon
        3.9 D'Ernest Johnson
        2.9 Kimani Vidal
        4.7 Audric Estime
        6.7 Dameon Pierce
        1.9 Hassan Haskins
        7.8 Tyler Badie
        2.5 Will Shipley
        3.1 Jonathan Brooks
        2.5 MarShawn Lloyd

and so again, 'tis a question of paying for a top five back in FA, or making a sneaky good pick in the draft....

Diss is a nice TE2 blue collar guy to have on the team. He's not a TE1 that threatens defenses or makes them adjust anything they do, we see the teams that have such a TE1 and we see the difference.

Does JH2 want to just try and build a B1G team that bullies, or do they want a dynamic team that blows other teams off the field? Warren or Fannin? I suspect they want the former. I am not sure that formula is the best way in the modern NFL but idunno ...

how many TE1s are there in the League that you are referencing, and that would help you blow out the opposition.... three ?? five ?? and how much is that gonna run you ?? and @what opportunity cost for the rest of the roster ??

why not just build on Dissly w/a receiving/pass catching TE to make up the difference ??

and Warren & Loveland would prolly help.... Fannin not so sure 'bout that.... ??

He is not reliable, he is not physical, he never wins contested catches.

Dissly is useful but a blocking TE2 who catches the odd pass is his most suitable role. He has played pretty well but he has also dropped some beautiful Herbert passes and cant be counted on as a consistent playmaker. he was no factor yesterday.

I could move on from Edwards no problem, there are better solutions. This RB draft class is the best in years, we need one from there to go with Dobbins if his injury status is ok to resign.

Not sure these are "perceived holes" We have among the worst skill groups in the entire NFL and our offense barely functions at times, pretty well every 2nd half of most games
Get WR Tee Higgins in FA.
Draft TE Loveland in the 1st round.

                100% true

Dissly is a good guy to have ...in his best role TE2

Again I just dont understand the opposition to having a stud TE on the Chargers by some on this board. Must have hated watching Winslow and Gates or not noticed Travis Kelce owning us for the last 10 years. Will be hard not to notice Bowers.

                    Sure.

Those moves or similar ones would help this offense win games against the Chiefs, Ravens, Steelers more than replacing Pipkins at RG

Joe had better luck on D than O last offseason while restocking the roster.... no reason to believe he won't fare a bit better this next go 'round, not to mention he did add Alt 'n Ladd.... huge additions, and....

we do have this thing called a cap/budget.

wait a minute, you just finished defending five TEs on that list that were unavailable, and now you are half assailing Dissly for his availability ??

of course Hayden hasn't been available.... part of the equation, and my point.... Joe did pretty darn good.... guys like Dissly and Bozeman might not have been home runs, but he coulda done (much) worse.... most GMs hit on 50 percent of their draft picks/FA additions.
