Yes, Herbert is due for his TE guy, that should be a priority, give him more weapons and this offense will flourish...

The more I think about it and as much as I want weapons for Herbert, I think they will go OG in the 1st. This is Harbaugh we are talking about, and he is going to want to protect Herbert. They will likely fo RB in rnd 2 and TE in rnd 3.

After KA and MW left people were freaken out because our WRs weren't great. I caught a lot of heat because I made a post stating Harbough doesn't need all pro WRs to make his offense work and he has proven it this year. I think he will continue to build the oline to protect Herbert. My guess is they will select an OT that don't have the measurables (arm length, foot work) to play OT in the pros. There are several 1rnd OTs that fit that scenario. The guy I'm looking at is Kelvin Banks.

      1) Kelvin Banks OT, Texas
      2) Kaleb Johnson RB, Iowa
      3) Gunnar Helm TE, Texas/Mason Taylor TE, LSU
      1) Cut Becton, Boz(ret), Dissly, DD, Fisk, and Dupree
      2) Re-sign Tart, Hand (4m), Phillips (5m)
      3) Sign the ERFA's Williams, Patterson, and Vidal (3m).
      4) Sign free agents Cole Strange (OG-1.5 m), Whyatt Teller (OG-10m), Luke Fortner (OC-6.5m), Brunskill (OC-vet min) Leo Chenal (LB-5m), Rashid Shaheed (WR- 14m), Cade Otten (TE-8m) Greg Dulcich (TE-3m), K'Lavon Chaisson (ED 9m), Myers (DT-7.8m), Alec Ingold (FB-6m), Hendrickson (ED-25m), Seumalo (OG-9m), AVT (OG). Jenkins (OG- 12m)

Or we sign a OG and get some weapons in the draft.

Many here would question that assertion at this point.

How difficult are Greg Roman's blocking schemes to pick up? Maybe a vet free agent would be wiser, given that many would consider it a reach to grab an OG in round 1.

players me thinx have good shot @53 next season....

              QB Herb, Taylor * done
RB Gus, Kimani, Patterson * most assuredly we get someone from day three, not so sure 'bout day two
WR LaDee, QJ, Simi, Rice, Derius * yes I think Joe dips in here again, but not 'til day three
TE Will, Stone, Fisk * not a popular stump, and won't be surprised if JH waits 'til day three here
OT Rashawn, Joe, Jamaree * done
OG Zion * think you gotta get someone in FA here, and if someone is still on the board day two, maybe
OC Bradley, Jaimes * think you go shoppin' here in FA, but no need to take chances before that

NT Poona, Teair * pretty solid tandem, but not passin' on Grant cozo that
DT Otito, Okoye * ditto as not letting Walker by me even if I got two here already
DE Morgan, Egboigbe * don't see a pressing reason to make a change here
ED Khalil, Tuli, Bud * not takin' an RB ahead of an edge player given Joey is no longer
OLB Daiyan, Dye * lookin' pretty darn good here if Troy returns
ILB Denzel, Colson * gotta get a hedge here as health concerns abound w/these two
CB Fulton, Cam, Tarheeb, Deane, Shaun Wade * if I can get another twofer day three eye wouldn't hesitate to double down here
S Derwin, Molden, Alohi * not sure who, but a day three filler/flyer seems likely here

ST Dicker, Harris * not sure I'd get rid of Scott, but seems pretty unanimous, @least hereabouts
LB CJ Allen, LT Caleb Lomu, OC Parker Brailsford, RB Demond Claiborne, TE Justin Joly, NT Dontay Corleone, OC Bryce Foster, CB Josh Moten, LB Eric Gentry

so need wise, lookin' like it's ED, OG, RB, TE, S, CB, ILB, RB, WR, PT, OC, and.... puttin' NT first coz that's where the talent is round one

QB Brett Rypien * would make him an offer as our QB3
RB Najee Harris * not sure I want to put all my eggs in your draft basket
RB Ollie Gordon, Devin Neal, Raheim Sanders * personally am content waiting 'til day three for an RB
RB Kaleb Johnson, TreVeyon Henderson, Kaytron Allen, Damien Martinez * this would be my lean outta your guys
WR Tre Harris, Jaylin Noel, Bru McCoy * outta your guys would lean Tre, albeit again personally would wait 'til day three
TE Tyler Warren, Mason Taylor * if you're gonna/gotta go early here, then these two would be my lean, albeit Loveland is more dangerous than Ty
TE Oronde Gadsden II * unfortunately Elijah Arroyo is never gonna be a Harbaugh guy, and we'll see 'bout the others
OT Josh Conerly Jr, Marcus Mbow * don't expect to cross paths w/the either of 'em, and....
OG Trey Smith, Kevin Zeitler * told anyone that would listen that some peeps had Smith 5 overall in his draft class
OG Donovan Jackson, Jonah Savaiinaea * if either of these guys are there after we take care of NT/ED, I'm in....
OG Taylor Booker, Tate Ratledge, Connor Colby * your guys, not mine....
OC Jared Wilson, Jake Majors, Jake Slaughter, Logan Jones * ditto from last line
OC James Daniels * lookin' OC in the '026 stanza, and would sign this guy in the interim

NT Kenneth Grant, Deone Walker * would take the either of 'em without blinkin' an eye
NT Nazir Stackhouse * drafting more for talent and less for need as got no problem double dippin' here
DT Omarr Norman Lott * super good day two value if we are so inclined
DE Howard Cross * if we have to spell Fox, this could be the guy
ED Malcolm Koonce * would give us a little more flexibility/leeway in the draft
ED Mykel Williams, James Pearce Jr * gonna be a surprise if the either of 'em will be there round one for us
ED JT Tuimoloau, Jack Sawyer * can't see not havin' an ED before the end of round two
ILB Cody Simon, Justin Flowe * keepin' an eye on the both of these guys as depth pieces
CB Domani Jackson, JaCobee Bryant * am hopin' that the one or both of these guys might be available day three
S Kevin Winston, Rod Moore * very short watchlist here, but could be good value

                PT got nuthin'
LB CJ Allen, LT Caleb Lomu, OC Parker Brailsford, RB Demond Claiborne, TE Justin Joly, NT Dontay Corleone, OC Bryce Foster, CB Josh Moten, LB Eric Gentry

They can question it all they want but the Chargers are on the verge of the playoffs and have a winning record.

They still are getting a RB and TE plus they still have the other rnds to pick up a WR and other RB/TE/WR if they chose. The weapons don't have to come in rnd 1.

LA is 24th in Passing YPG, 23rd in Total YPG, 18th in PPG. How do you define “make his offense work? Thats bottom tier by all measures

I don’t disagree that a main deficiency is IOL. That is KC’s secret to surviving bad OTs. We have stud bookends, if we create a solid IOL we will be beastly. But we still need aTE1 (oh, pretty much every contender has one), we still can benefit greatly from a true WR1, and still would get increasing returns from a true RB1.

Maybe they select an OT to convert. I don’t see a current college OG or OC worth a Rd1 pick but it’s not like I scouted them all. I’d go spend on a proven vet or two for IOL personally, not risk another season on IOL draft picks either switching to new positions or suddenly being elite.

What I mean is it's not a bombs away offense. It's short and intermediate pass mixed in with the run game and an occasional deep pass.

Whether they sign a FA OG or two (which I hope they do) or not doesn't mean they won't still take one in the 1st rnd. They are going to build the o-line and I believe they are going to do it through the draft, IMHO.

                          Jaydon Blue - RB - 6'0 201 - Texas Longhorns

With his impressive first step and acceleration, Blue is one of the most dangerous ball carriers eligible for the 2025 NFL Draft. Although he is just a junior, Blue can make a strong case to become a top-100 pick despite past setbacks.
