Jets offenses were horrid in his tenure. I can see this being his best year ever, quite easily.

TE-crazed TPB may be shocked to see them not take a TE early but if JH2 don't, they expect Conk will provide more than estimated.
I heard on a podcast recently that Conklin had only one drop last year. It was something absurd like that. I can’t remember exactly what the stat was but it was really impressive.

Letting Taylor get to KC could be a huge mistake. He’s 20 and can sit behind Kelce and learn for a year. Not good…
Agree...draft Taylor @#22, then go OG in round 2...either trading up or staying put...

Only twice since 2000 has three TEs gone in round 1....2017 draft

        OJ Howard 19th
        Evan Engram 23rd
        David Njoku 29th

I dont think anyone saw Howard being a bust but he was.

        2002

        Jeremy Shocky 14th
        Daniel Graham 21st
        Jeramy Stevens 28th

Nuttin much to write home about there. IF all three this year go round one, which id be surprised about, ...i just hope we get the right one. I know this is hard to believe right now but my pick to possibly not be much in the league is Warren. Not saying he will be that, but the list says the odds all three are good NFL players, isn't happening but theres always a first time for everything.

There have been a few times two TEs went round one

What’s your worst position on the Bolts, the position that needs upgrading the most to be able to compete this year?

For me it’s LG and WRX.

I look at the guys we have at LG and I shudder. None of them even qualify as JAGS. At least with WRX, there are other positions on the field that can catch a pass. The LG is pretty much on his own.

Im getting my LG by 55, you can be sure of that. We need a day 1 starter.
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
          Let’s win one for Mack.

Correct. I sorted the list by lowest drops and only ONE drop all season for Conklin:

            image.png

Now, here's the top TE's in drops...note that Bowers and Kelce are near the top...so, if it makes anyone feel any better, Bowers will beat you at times, but he'll also drop some key passes...so, I say, keep him flustered in coverage...

If MW stays healthy X isnt our worst possition. LG or OC is til we see different. We have two guys at OC who werent good last year and a OG trying to be one. X we just need depth and who knows if Rice cant be that but on a 1 year deal (MW) we like to get another WR who can play X.

Im personally not real worried about any of this. We have a real GM now.

I can’t blame them if they just draft Taylor at 22.

Left Guard forsure and OC! We need a #2 RB too and WR all equally....

                    It's always about matchups.

How many good weapons do you have ?

How many of those command double teams ?

How many decent DBs do opponents have ?

Taylor is true flex TE that you can line up all over the formation and he’s a mismatch nightmare. 6’5” 255 and he runs good routes and has those great hands. Taylor has a drop rate of 1.8%. That’s ridiculously good. In contrast as I pointed out, Terrance Ferguson had a drop rate of 10.4% this year. As one poster pointed out, may have been because of the left handed QB.
I like the idea of MW-Taylor-Conklin-Ladd-Najee-rookie RB in some combination that opens up the field for Herbert.
I think Taylor solves a huge part of the receiving issues outside of Ladd. He’s so good at boxing out his defender(s) and presenting himself as a receiver. And he’s a serious nightmare in the red zone. One of the biggest pros I noticed about Taylor is his ability to get open down in the red zone where it’s congested. That mismatch in the red zone has to be considered with him.

LG wouldn’t be a problem if Herbert got rid of the ball faster. He needs weapons besides Ladd McConkey to do that.

Better TE’s and another speedy receiver who can stretch the defense will immensely improve that.

Defenses could crowd and press, our OL last year because our TE’s were a joke and QJ could be covered by any JAG.

No OL in the league is good enough without offensive weapons. It’s unrealistic for QB’s to hold the ball forever. IOL was sub par, for sure, but they don’t deserve all the blame.

Before the draft and preseason, like now, we have to assume that all our coming opponents will have decent DBs.
On the other hand, we can assume that all our weapons are good. How can we upgrade our attack as a team?
Speaking of team, our D isn't perfect and we will ignore them in the draft at our peril.
