Was totally curious but found that he retired in 2019 and has an active X (Twitter) account. Not sure if that's him as there are reposts...Originally posted by Boltjolt View Post
That's his name. I kept trying to remember his name but it wouldn't hit me.
Haven't heard his name in a while. Must have retired or worse

Chargers pull off a robbery for Justin Herbert in Mel Kiper’s new mock draft
Chris Roling| 5 Hours Ago
The Los Angeles Chargers aren’t strangers to robbing folks blind in the NFL draft.
Last year, as general manager Joe Hortiz found his footing alongside Jim Harbaugh, he pulled off a lopsided deal with the New England Patriots to trade up and nab Ladd McConkey in an effort to help Justin Herbert. One year later, McConkey is a No. 1 wideout and the two players drafted by the Patriots with the picks hardly see the field.
This year? ESPN’s Mel Kiper Jr. has Hortiz pulling off something similar while standing still, grabbing Arizona wideout Tetairoa McMillan at No. 22:
“This would be a heck of an outcome for the Chargers. This isn't a fantastic receiver class, and teams might prioritize other positions on Day 1, pushing guys such as McMillan down the board a little bit. The Chargers -- who already have last year's standout second-rounder Ladd McConkey -- would jump at the chance to add McMillan, who is consistent and has a really impressive catch radius. He reminds me of Drake London, coming down with 50-50 balls with ease. His 1,319 receiving yards ranked third in the country this past season. And with that kind of production, he'd be a dependable outlet for quarterback Justin Herbert. I could see McMillan and McConkey becoming the next Keenan Allen/Mike Williams pairing to cause chaos for opponents in Los Angeles.”
Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.
Let’s win one for Mack.

Could a run on OL, DL and ED happen before the Bolts pick?
I wouldn’t rule it out. Those position groups look strong early. Now, if you excuse me, I have some Charger memories to suppress.

I'm good with this but I think a couple of teams would have to pass on him. I'd take either Tmac or Emeka in a heartbeat at 22.Originally posted by Formula 21 View PostChargers pull off a robbery for Justin Herbert in Mel Kiper’s new mock draft

Nobody wants Keenan because he plays mostly slot though he does play some Z but we are cool with Emeka? He isn't a X.Originally posted by gzubeck View Post

According to Bucky Brooks :
Pick
20
Denver Broncos
Ashton Jeanty
Boise State · RB · Junior
In this scenario, I can't imagine Sean Payton bypassing an RB1 with three-down ability and the potential to score from anywhere on the field. Jeanty is special, and his presence could ignite an offense primed to challenge Kansas City's longstanding AFC West
Is it possible Jeanty slide to the Broncos ?
In that scenario, Loveland and Hampton are there at 21 and 22.

Strong late too but the likelihood of quality hit drops.Originally posted by Formula 21 View PostCould a run on OL, DL and ED happen before the Bolts pick?
I wouldn’t rule it out. Those position groups look strong early.
So, we aren't taking QB or a starting OT in the 1st and you're taking all the top IOL, DL and Edge off the table.
What's left? BPA. Could be RB, WR, TE, LB, S, CB.

Except I’m not sure Hortiz isn’t focused on beef in the 1st. This could be a very wild draft with so many players rated equally.Originally posted by sonorajim View Post

Well, an OT and OG aren't the same value. Hortiz went with Joe Alt because he knows an OT influences the run game and passing game so much. Harbaugh gave us indications pre-draft. "Run the ball and protect the QB" was a statement he used frequently. IMO, that meant we were going OT in the 1st round... that's where you get your elite OT's. As I stated before, Baltimore tended to get their OG's and DT'd in the 3rd/4th rounds.Originally posted by beachcomber View Post
was mostly a reference to them selecting Alt over Nabers.... lineman/beef over skill position player/gazelle ??
and only recall CJ West as a later DL pick on your part, and.... doesn't look half bad, but not really familiar w/him ??
for myself, do like Nazir 'n Omarr some, and Howard Cross as well.... if they're there mid rounds.
far as IOL, do like Jared Wilson there if he lasts that long, and ditto for Savaiinaea if that was to be the case, and....
don't seem to recall a mid round IOL from your (head)quarters ??
and do think Donovan Jackson might warrant early consideration, along w/alotta peoples liking Booker here, and....
Hurst and Dobbins were FAs, and.... not sure eye see an RB that works in FA, @least for me, albeit do like Noah Fant some ??
I put CJ West in my mock late (6th round) because that's where pundits put him. I think he'll go earlier (5th round?)... but there are others I like, too... the ones you listed are pretty good, but I'd add Joshua Farmer, Darius Alexander, JJ Pegues... Last off-season, Hortiz hit pay-dirt with Poona and Tart. The free agent list of DT's looks pretty deep. Harbaugh said he'd like to bring back a lot of the team's free agents... I hope that means Ford and Tart.
The pundits are wishy-washy on Jared Wilson. Earlier they loved him enough to mock him in the 2nd... now they have him around the 4th/5th. I suspect he's a 3rd rounder. We'll have to see what they do in free agency. Again, I'd prefer they get the OC/RG positions taken care of in free agency. I've posted a number of mid/late round IOL names. Jack Nelson, Tyler Cooper, Connor Colby, Addison West, Seth McLaughlin, Cooper Mays, Joe Huber... and even UDFA Karsen Barnhart are guys that could develop behind my preferred route (free agent OC and RG).
Hurst and Dobbins were cheap prove-it free agents. Dobbins proved himself, Hurst didn't. But this off-season is vastly different than last cap-wise.
Protect the QB
Run the ball
Play great defense
