That what Lynn wants to do.
    Burrow is a perfect fit.
Lynn is a great coach that knows how to win.

If it was up to me, I give up the farm for Burrow and give Lynn a 10 year extension.

    .............seriously?

FWIW, Jay Glazer doesn't think we trade up for Burrow:

Chargers not likely to trade up to No. 1 for Joe Burrow?

      By Jesse Reed
      -
      February 9, 2020

"The Los Angeles Chargers need a quarterback with Philip Rivers reportedly moving on this offseason, but it probably won’t be Joe Burrow. According to Jay Glazer of The Athletic, the Chargers are not likely to trade up to No. 1 overall for Burrow, or any other quarterback.

Answering a question about this in his weekly mailbag, Glazer wrote, “The amount you have to give up to trade for that number one pick from where the Chargers are sitting, it’s probably going to set a franchise back. They’ve got to be so sure on Burrow and the amount of draft capital you’re going to have to give is going to be an awful lot to move up. For a team like the Chargers, I just don’t see it.”

The Chargers currently have the No. 6 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, and many of the latest mock drafts do have them selecting a quarterback at that spot.

As Glazer noted, trading up — even from No. 6 to No. 1 — will “set a franchise back.” We saw that play out in a big way in recent years, including a few years back when the Chicago Bears moved up just one spot and had to give up a king’s ransom to land Mitch Trubisky.

The Bengals are widely assumed to be sticking with Burrow at the top spot anyway, having a need at quarterback of their own. But given the hype surrounding Burrow these days, and given how desperate teams are to land “the guy,” we won’t be shocked by anything this coming April."

Interesting story on how the 49ers tricked the Bears into trading up to #2 overall to pick Trubinsky, and giving up several draft picks to do so. Liar's month...

A similar thing happened in 2012. Minnesota held the #3 pick and Cleveland the #4. The Vikings told the Browns that they had a trade offer for #3 and that the pick would be used to draft Trent Richardson. Wanting Richardson, the Browns traded 4, 118, 139, and 211 to the Vikes to move up to one spot. It was never confirmed that the Vikings ever had another trade offer on the table.

Wow. I guess the flip side of this is that if a GM from another team fools you once, you can't trust him again...

Here's another story about Liar's Month bluffing, including a secret dinner with Trubinsky to bluff other teams into thinking they didn't want DeShaun Watson...wonder if they'd like a do-over on that one:

                Secret dinner with Trubisky

The Bears may have been caught up in subterfuge by the 49ers, but Chicago also performed some deception of its own.

Chicago sent nearly every key member of its organization -- including general manager Ryan Pace and head coach John Fox -- to Deshaun Watson’s pro day to give the impression Watson was the team's potential target, according to ESPN Bears reporter Jeff Dickerson. But the Bears staged a secret dinner with Trubisky behind the scenes and begged his camp not to leak the news.

The plan worked as news of the dinner didn’t get out until after the pick was made.

                  I'm out on that limb.
                  Lynn is a great coach.
You are not going to get a better one.
Belichek, Carroll, Reid are not available.

If Lynn is going to contend with Reid/Mahomes then he needs a great QB.

                  Lynn/Burrow.
Imo, that will work out very well.

Disagree.Lynn is not a very good coach and we will all come to realize that this season.

Lynn wasn't great last year. He was pretty good in 2018.
I think AL will win a lot of games with the Chargers -IF-
....we have good OL blocking, a strong rushing attack, a mobile QB with a decent arm, composure and a reliable mix of receiving targets.
                      That with a very good-great DL-LBs-DBs.

Get er done Tom y John!

Lol so basically any coach would win with all that.

Eh, I figured it was a long shot, but it did get my hopes up for a sec. In all fairness, if he was really trying to hint about wanting to "play for a team committed to winning a Super Bowl", we ain't it either. As much as everyone hated Eli, he was right.
